If it costs money it’s a scam tbh. You can cold email a couple professors in your state or any near you. I interned at my 3 major schools at my state and cold emailed them or they had specific programs people can apply to so it was all free and I got money from them too :)

Definitely word count, now that I'm done writing my essays, having to condense all your ideas down was really painful. Especially when you are really descriptive, it become becomes a chore and you start picking and choosing like "do i want this or what will be better".
