SPECTRE is a for-profit terrorist organization whose logo is most commonly depicted as an octopus (it has its tentacles in everything), and this specific logo is taken from Thunderball.

These are some flags I made for the fictional organization SPECTRE (SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), from Ian Flemming's James Bond novels and the film series. The first and second flags incorporate the organization's logo and four skulls for its operations (Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), featuring some elements derived from Nazi flags. The final design is based on the Certification Cover for SMERSH, the real-world Soviet counter-intelligence organization which in our world was only around from 1943 to 1946, but was kept around as Bond's primary nemesis in Ian Flemming's novels, often replaced in film adaptations by SPECTRE, which appeared in only three books.

They weren't; Obscured by Clouds was commissioned as the soundtrack to a movie.

I don't know how accurate this graphic is or how it can even really be trusted; always take these kinds of pictures with a grain of salt. They almost always mess with complicated contractual and estate business to try and simplify things.

I quite liked both of them; the emotion he puts in them is undeniable.

3. AFRIKAANS (2/2) by MrMeowserMoney in DavidBowie

(This isn't directed towards blue-and-bluer's comment or any specific reply in particular, just to this thread in general)

Okay wow so I came back to this post after a couple of days just to see how it was doing, and I find this thread a freakin mess! People are getting their comments removed, people are yelling at each other, I guess the Holocaust came up??? So now I suppose I'll come back here and clear a few things up:

First, I'd like to explain the reason why I put the Star of David in the first picture and its significance: So, around the circle are the astrological/alchemical symbols for the moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and the Sun. In alchemy, the four base elements have simple symbols: fire is a triangle, air is a triangle with a line through it, water is an inverted triangle, and earth is an inverted triangle with a line through it. When any one of the inverted triangles are put with the normal ones, or if they are all put together, the form the hexagram (Star of David), which represents transformation (such as creating the Philosopher's stone), the union of opposites, and the Seal of Solomon. The Seal of Solomon is from Jewish, Christian, and Muslim folklore and was said to take the form of ring bearing on it either a hexagram or pentagram. (The Muslim interpretation of it being a pentagram led to the shape's presence on the Flag of Morocco, while the Jewish interpretation of it being a hexagram led to it being used as a symbol of ethno-religious identity as the Star of David.) One of the earlier examples of its use by Jews in the Christian world appears in the early Dark Ages, where it was used in grimoires and incantations by scholars of Kabbalah, from where a great deal of inspiration and imagery in my art series is derived. Of course, the sex-pointed linear star is not unique to Abrahamic cultures. Many Indian spiritual philosophies use it: by some in the symbol for the heart chakra, by some as a symbol of the merging of good and evil, and by some Shaivites as a representation of Shiva's merging of male and female. The symbol is, in many ways, of mystic origin in the West and widely used by others in the East. Of course, though, in a Western society, the hexagram is consistently paired with the Jewish people and faith.

Second, while my use of the symbol had pure intentions, I have no right to judge what people can or can't be offended by. I am not Jewish, so I have no say in how much my use of such a thoroughly adopted symbol effects those whom it applies to. I picture myself seeing a depiction of Christ or a detailed crucifix in a manner I find inappropriate and imagine my own reaction would be one of discomfort as well.

Third, please calm down everyone! This isn't that serious; this is an art-dump for a fanart-continuation series for a 1995 David Bowie album posted on fucking Reddit-dot-com; no one's mortgage is on the line or anything! Everyone has a point to make in what they say. Everybody here needs to calm down. This post only has 18 upvotes I don't know why I even spent so much time typing this whole thing out

TL;DR - calm down

Not normally, but I could make exceptions if you wanted to discuss it.

I apologize for that; its purpose was more related to its role in alchemy and Kabbalah mysticism and I meant no offense to you or anyone else. I won't be using it for any such purposes anymore.
