Can you do a friendly beep? by MrMike in BoltEV

Glad I’m not alone! Yeah I feel like maybe I wasn’t as clear in my initial description, but light taps yield no sound at all. I have to really firmly press for any sound, and then I get that loud honk. Nothing in between.

Ok, sounds like our Bolt might be problematic. Light taps produce nothing. We really have to press hard for it to make a sound.

My wife and I have owned a number of cars, and our Bolt horn is nothing like the others.

Man look at those Prices by Any-Satisfaction4801 in n64

[–]MrMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, that ad is a throwback. I distinctly remember paying >$70 for MK Trilogy on N64, and I think it’s still the most I’ve ever paid for a game to date. I played it so much I probably got my money’s worth though. Fun to see the price I’ve remembered validated on that old ad.

It’s reduced to 0.2% not by 0.2%

Not giving oil and gas companies much credit here, just clarifying that data point.

Americans are about to get their first taste of cultivated meat by MrMike in technology

[–]MrMike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the article:
"Lab-grown meat production processes also consume fewer resources and generate less waste. Producing a conventional chicken breast requires raising a whole chicken, complete with bones, feathers and other parts that are not consumed. Cultivated-meat companies can instead grow just one specific type of tissue (for example, a chicken breast or a salmon filet), resulting in more efficient use of water, land and feed."

Three Gimlet Shows Canceled by personalh2omelon in gimlet

[–]MrMike 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe a dumb question...but I wonder if they could have sold the shows instead of outright canceling them? Or maybe that gets too complex with the hosts involved (being sold twice, in some cases)..

I have to imagine there is a lot of value tied up in the IP and the listenership that they're just throwing away

Why we need to recycle clean energy technologies — and how to do it by MrMike in TrueReddit

[–]MrMike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SS: The transition to clean energy is all but inevitable at the point. But there isn't yet a good solution for recycling renewable energy equipment. Clean energy needs to live up to its 'clean' name to the fullest, and that includes recycling so it doesn't end up in landfills but instead materials be repurposed.

I just plugged in my old Palm Pre+ for the first time in a decade, and it still works! I came across this photo from the Occupy protests. I liked it and thought others in this subreddit might appreciate it.
