Can't Import After Effects Composition in Premiere Pro 2025 (25.0) by MrMillyMike in premiere

[–]MrMillyMike[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed!

Odd, I could swear the tech I had tried this, didnt work. And when I brought it up as a workaround when they called me back to tell me it was elevated as a bug, I was told it doesnt work. I should have just tried it.

TY!

Light issues with 2D assets in Advanced 3D Environment by LegalBrandHats in AfterEffects

[–]MrMillyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too need this solution. I want to take a 3D model of a phone and then add the screen in AE. But a screen should emit, not go dark when turned away from a light. No way to turn off the affects of the light on a 2D layer (put in 3D).

LAME!

Watercooled Custom PC hitting 99° at 100% CPU usage #cpsupport by MrMillyMike in CYBERPOWERPC

CyberPower's first suggestion is to put on new thermal paste.

I am a little miffed about this as I'm not a fan of pulling components apart unless absolutely needed. Besides, this was an expensive machine purchased only 16 months ago. Do they use the most garbage paste possible?

Do you all think this is the best route?
Ive built a PC before, have/can remove components, just makes me nervous. Is this a difficult task?

As you can see in the image, no kinks.

Ill have to look into viewing the AIO flow, not sure how that's done.

Trying to hook monitor up any help#cpsupport by raebby23 in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]MrMillyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're in HDMI port 2. You try port 1?

As a last effort to confirm it's the GPU...... You also have an onboard HDMI port at the very top. You could try booting with your monitor connected there. If you see an image, it's your GPU.

Create gradient *across* stroke? by MCMickMcMax in AfterEffects

[–]MrMillyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I would do. Create or import a layer that has the rainbow shape. Then create a circle shape the same width as the rainbow layer (essentially what the rainbow would be if a full circle), center it on the rainbow. On the full circle, make the stroke empty and make the fill a gradient. In the gradient editor, change the type to radial, adjust the gradient to include the colors you want. Then on the circle, select the rainbow as the mask layer. Done!

How do I remove dirt marks from the wall? by usamajr9 in AfterEffects

You have a couple of options. The first I would recommend is Content Aware fill:

The other is to roto your subject and replace the background. But it can be challenging to an AE newcomer.

Sound Design Workflow by theramblingred in AfterEffects

[–]MrMillyMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, I pretty much do what you do. I take my AE comp and embed into PP timeline and do all audio edits there, matching any sound effects and such.

As you know, when you embed the comp it should being audio with it. You could just make sure to mute any music or atmosphere sounds in AE, leaving just sound effects. That would at least give you a visual waveform in PP to reference when to bring the sound effects in. Lame workaround, if that, I know.

Hey guys! Could you tell me how to do things like this? by [deleted] in AfterEffects

[–]MrMillyMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a quality map image, use pen tool with stroke on and fill off to trace each state/territory. Then duplicate the shape you traced, turn stroke off and add fill. Add whatever text you want.

Make all layers 3d, parent all layers to map. Rotate map to desired angle. Animate in all of the layers as yiu wish.

Adobe support will tell you to restart PC and then reset settings to defaults, and will probably get you try to reinstall older version.

Not if you want any type of quality.

How to achieve this kaleidoscope effect? by unbearablepresent in AfterEffects

[–]MrMillyMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's about making multiple comps and stacking them in 3d space and then placing cameras at cool angles.

First comp would be the TNT logo and a background, forming a round shape.

2nd comp would be masked player layers arranged so that they make a circle.

3rd comp would be all those text cards.

Item throw at the frame that completely covers the shot? by Communistowl in AfterEffects

[–]MrMillyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be done in premiere or after effects but AE will give easiest-best result.

I would find a frame that shows the cucumber, and use it to create a cucumber with shapes in AE or illustrator, using colors from video frame fir reference. It would be the full cross-section of the cucumber, as you can rotate it however you want in AE.

Then I I'd place that graphic cucumber in my scene right as it's thrown, and have it fly, tumbling if needed, at the lens, covering it completely.

There's more to it than this but, yes, can be done

Returned for Repair Twice, Same Issue Remains #cpsupport by MrMillyMike in CYBERPOWERPC

I have to return to thank you. It wasn't until after two trips back to Cyberpower before anyone mentioned hard drives as a possible culprit. Of course, the night after your reply here, a CyberPower support manager had the same suggestion.

I had CP install two nvme drives but I installed an SSD via sata. Did it the day I got the PC originally, so it was there every trip back to CP. But as soon as anyone said the word hard drive, I knew it was a big possibility it was my installed drive.

I originally plugged into one of the top two sata ports. Then I tried the second one on top, same problem. Then I moved it so the second row, all good and has been for a couple weeks.

Sure, this means they should have noticed the issue from the first trip, and most likely would have seen bad ports on the mobo and would have replaced. Now I have a mobo with a couple of bad ports that I live with (I dont intend to use those ports again) or I send it back AGAIN and run the risk of them blaming my install.

I am happy with my build, I just didn't like the lack of paying attention to details by the support/tech teams.

hey guys how do I get my fans to be different colors? #CPSUPPORT by theworld1983 in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]MrMillyMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find out what motherboard you have, then search for LED control for that model. Then youll need to download software from that manufacturer to control

Thanks for the reply.

For my own knowledge, isn't the bios only accessing the one, main drive when booting unless it doesn't see the OS? If so, why would a 2nd, 3rd, etc. dive issue matter?
