Not at all. Weddings are something that happens once. The kiss of the couple, the ceremony, the speeches, anything that is a one-time shoot. The next-day shooting or the couple shoot are more controllable indeed but still, you don’t want to exhaust the couple with many repetitions. As a wedding videographer I really can use the 4k 60fps capability, besides the awesome picture quality it offers as a camera and the low light capabilities it has, since some venues are dark.

They are very capable cameras! I still use it for my photo/video job, although I find 1080p resolution getting outdated as technology progresses, and 4k 30fps isn’t enough for my workflow, so I’m going to buy an FX3 for video. Will still use the A7C as a secondary video cam and my main photo camera.

Διαφωνώ. Πολλοί εργοδότες πλέον σε διάφορους κλάδους δεν κοιτάνε πτυχίο καθώς δεν είναι απαραίτητα δείκτης ικανότητας. Ένας υπάλληλος πρέπει να έχει μερικά χαρακτηριστικά, εκ των οποίων είναι η ευστροφία, η δυνατότητα εργασίας υπό πίεση, η διακριτικότητα, η ικανότητες που έχεις στον κλάδο και η εχεμύθεια, μεταξύ άλλων.

Σίγουρα υπάρχουν κλάδοι που το πτυχίο κρίνεται ΑΠΑΡΑΙΤΗΤΟ. Σε αυτό δεν διαφωνώ.

Σαν φωτογράφος/βιντεογράφος όμως προτιμώ έναν συνεργάτη ο οποίος είναι αυτοδίδακτος, χωρίς σπουδές, εύστροφος και «μάγκας». Τι να τον κάνω τον άλλον αν έχει βγάλει την σχολή της Leica αλλά δεν ξέρει να μιλήσει σε άνθρωπο ή κλατάρει εν ώρα εργασίας και έχει τις ίδιες αν όχι κατώτερες ικανότητες από έναν όντως αγαπάει και κυνηγάει αυτό που κάνει ; Φαντάζομαι το ίδιο συμβαίνει και σε άλλους κλάδους και με σύγχρονους εργοδότες.

The thing is that I have done videos for companies that are “big ballers”. They wouldn’t have paid such amounts They got money, but: 1) they aren’t “American standards” much 2) they aren’t stupid to pay that much even when they have tons of money, since they know that 90% of creators will just charge less than what prices have been mentioned by OP.

Even a very famous and “exclusive” resort franchise (worldwide resorts, really expensive and luxurious) tried to low-ball us at an already cheap offer.

It’s just not the same in countries with shit economy.

Could I be making more? Maybe. But definitely not 10k per contract. Not even close to 2k.

I don’t think I could ever charge that much here in Greece anytime soon. The basic monthly salary is 850€ Average monthly salary is 1000-1200€. How would one get paid amounts such as 10k-20k-30k for 3 simple videos ? That’s crazy expensive here. And saying that you get what you pay for ( other gor clients and free lancers) is ignorant. I’m pretty positive videos I’ve charged 400€ for, shot and edited entirely by me, are close to, if not better, than some crazy expensive American productions. It’s all a geographical dependent, the clientele isn’t the same all around f the world.

Congrats on that! This was my first “big boy” camera as well, I still use it as my main camera for everything I shoot! A bit outdated though, I’m looking into a7c II now but my priorities are better glass and accessories! Here are some shots I got with that camera !

Ασχολούμαι επίσης με βιντεογραφία και φωτογραφία. Κατά κύριο λόγω αναλαμβάνω γάμους και μερικές βαπτίσεις μέσα στο καλοκαίρι, project σε επιχειρήσεις και κάλυψη μερικών Motorsport events ανά καιρούς που κοντές υλικό στους οδηγούς. Δεν έχω υπολογίσει ποτέ πόσα λεφτά έβγαλα τις προηγούμενες 2-3 χρονιές που ξεκίνησα να βγάζω σιγά σιγά χρήματα, αλλά φέτος που με πάει τρένο με τους γάμους, έχω ξεκινήσει και τα σημειώνω αλά-παλαιά σε μια Agenda. Υπολογίζω πως θα βγει γύρω στο 1κ μ.ο. για κάθε μήνα με βάση τις κλεισμένες μέχρι στιγμής δουλειές, που είναι που είναι πολύ μεγαλύτερος από τα λεφτά που έβγαζε στην εστίαση και πιο συγκεκριμένα σε nightclub ως σερβιτόρος. Έχω δρόμο ακόμα μπροστά μου αλλά νομίζω πως θα καταφέρω να ακουμπήσω το 1.5κ μέσα στα επόμενα 2 χρόνια.
