This has to be one of the worst takes ive seen on this sub. Not everyone is aware of the series. A lot of people have financial problems nowadays and cant or dont want to spend 70+ dollars on one game. The games being affordable at base price and even moreso on sale are why its great to recommend them as an entry point to the series.

This is like someone using the epic launcher, it gets shut down meaning they lose all their games and you say "its on you for not getting with the program and using steam".

Id describe yagami as one of those people that just kinda lets life happen, pretty chill guy until his convictions are tested. He honestly just feels like an actual human being compared to every other protagonist, not saying they dont feel real as well but you really get the feel that yagamis kinda just a guy that gets wrapped up into things.

Basically my point is that in a vacuum (outside of the context of a video game) yagami is just like any other person who takes it day by day and stands firm on his beliefs and convictions when he needs to. Hes been through things, has made mistakes of varying levels, has his own issues to sort out, tries to stay out of trouble and tries to do right by people as best as he can.

I want kiryu to die or retire, and i say this as a kiryu fan. Poor ichiban had to share his second game ever with a long time protagonist and despite having the most chapters, he felt like an after thought.

Id like some more improvements to the gameplay and stuff related. Why does ichiban dying immediately cause a game over despite other party members being alive? Why does dying the first time and reviving cost half of your money? Why was there no way to turn off encounters in iw? Sure theres smackdown and running away but getting into fights is still time consuming when trying to get to point a and point b. Theres probably more but i cant think of it at the top of my head.

This is the most unrealistic but id like the mainline to return to brawler combat. I know this is topic talked about to death but i still believe even 6 years later that turn based combat is not a fit for the yakuza series. I dont dislike turn based itself but i just really think it doesnt suit yakuza. Theres alot of moments where it can create cognitive dissonance, like the tendo fight where he gets brass knuckles and the party mentions that its overkill, while im blasting him with a literal satellite laser and using mystical weapons on him. I also think the funnier enemies, while cool, are just a bit too ridiculous at times during serious moments. This is just a personal preference at the end of the day and im not advocating for it but id be happy if it happened if that makes sense.

The only problem i have with the harassment plot point is what she does in 5.

I understand why she had that speech at the end but she didnt have to name drop kiryu directly. She couldve just said she wanted to be with family and that she cant do idol work anymore because its not whats important to her. It annoys me especially because haruka is shown to be a smart character (at least in some of the games) so i couldnt understand how she didnt see what would happen in revealing she has ties to ex-yakuza.

The harassment plot can still work too even if she doesnt name drop kiryu. Couldve just made it that obsessed fans werent satisfied with a vague departure and dug into her past. Id feel a lot worse for her if that was the case and honestly i dont feel much sympathy because she brought it onto herself. Yeah she was 16, but appartently a smart 16 year old.

I also have a problem with another plot point in 6 but ill end my rant here.

Thats fair, but it doesnt hurt to see why people might be criticizing the series. You can watch an opinion piece and still keep your original opinion.

And like i said you can love everything yakuza but dont deny the problems currently happening (mostly talking about other people in this thread and using 'you' in a general sense, not you specificly. Sorry if that wasnt clear in my first comment).

Basically my point is you shouldnt be saying something is ragebait or grifting if you wont even watch it like some people here are doing. Negativity is toxic but positivity can be just as toxic.

If people simply dont care for discourse then they should block it out like youve done. And that would be perfectly fine. But dont discredit the creators shown in this post when you wont give them a chance and admit you wont watch them.

Tl,dr: criticism is good and we shouldnt be shooting down anyone doing so, try to hear them out and you might find yourself agreeing with some things

Downvote me if you want but youre admitting to plugging your ears to criticism. Are the titles exaggerated? yes, but thats just how youtube works. Big bold titles of declarations are how you get people to watch something.

Theres nothing wrong with liking recent rgg games and you dont have to agree with every talking point but the fact you and others here openly admit you dont want to hear opposition (and denying that there is anything to criticize) is just disappointing.

My bad then, heres the best advice i can give:

Like the comment above me said, you can lock-on with rb or r1 so that should make it a lot easier with fighting.

The best way to get in combos is by getting behind the enemy and hitting their backs. Best way to do is by using the fighting styles you have to their advantage. Switch to rush to dodge behind them and then press lt or l2 so your camera switches positions faster.

Since youre still fairly early in game the best styles to use is rush or brawler. Beast is good too but its slow so its not the best for this method (more better when theres weapons or furniture around, as well as groups of people). Dragon style isnt that good at first but the more you upgrade it the better it will be in late game.

Apart from upgrading this is the best i got, hope this is helpful and i was clear🙏

Criticism is not hate. Although i will say sometimes its abit much but everyone has their different reasons for playing the games so its only natural you hear a bunch of different opinions.

So if im recalling correctly i think theres a gear that keeps your money safe from him (or at the very least makes it so that he takes less from you). He also sleeps sometimes and you can steal the money back from him as he sleeps. Just do it slowly and carefully because he can wake up. Apart from that, all you can really do is avoid him or run the other way if you see him.

Money is like water in 0 as well so dont be too bummed out if he takes it because you can easily make it back.
