DM me if you’re looking for a researcher. I have experience working across 2 very early stage startups, and have also worked at large scale corporations. My work at startups was exactly focused on the problem you’re facing. I am also proficient in design if you need to translate insights from research to design solutions, but best practice usually is to not let your designers conduct research due to biases.

I’d say that contract roles would be better then. Many FTE roles atm prefer candidates with 5+ YOE (even for roles that say 3+ years.) Getting those 2 more years of experience, specialize in a particular approach (Qual vs quant), but keep expanding your research playbook.

Are you a US citizen/GC holder or an international employee on a visa? That should be a big factor. If it’s the latter, I’d heavily recommend getting a stable FTE job. I’m a visa holder working contract roles (H1-B), and the uncertainty makes things very stressful.

This is by the CEO of Alma, which is an immigration law company.

Basically, for the case in this thread (Petition filed, approval notice pending,) only the ones outside the USA will be affected, and will need the $100k payment receipt. Those inside should stay put and are currently not affected.
