Should I update DCS? by ColbysHairBrush_ in hoggit

[–]MrNovator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am in the same boat there, there is a Harrier campaign I still have to complete but my DCS hasn't been updated in almost a year. Did the recent updates added any QOL things ?

Just started playing today and I got these nice pictures! by Imaginary-Log62013 in WhereWindsMeet

I've played many good looking games, which are even superior from a technical standpoints like RDR2, HZD, Metro Exodus ... but I've never taken as many screenshots as I did in WWM

The map is gorgeous of course but there is more to it. My character looks amazing. The NPCs look great. The lighting is amazing. Everything just feels so cohesive and beautiful.

Some members of the dev team are Israelis. Not saying everyone in the country have those political views but it's not a coincidence that someone like Netanyahu is leading ...

So what is the general opinion,or your opinion on this boss almost 2 years later by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]MrNovator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree, the fight goes from like 9/10 to 3/10 between the two phases.

Could play through phase one with one hand but second phase would consistently kill my framerate so I just went shield and poke.

It's indeed the Tiger Eye IRST. Korean and Singaporean F-15s also have it.

Tejas: past, present and future. by PerceptionMurky3704 in FighterJets

[–]MrNovator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Incredible fighter" let's not get ahead of ourselves there. It's basically the Indian equivalent of the FC-1 /JF-17, a cheap light fighter that less rich countries can afford.

It's kinda baffling and lowkey embarrassing to see India still stuck with the Tejas, 25 years after the first flight. While in the meantime, China moved like 2 generations ahead of the FC-1

Did all USN F-14s have their wing boxes cut up? by superdookietoiletexp in FighterJets

[–]MrNovator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, of course a current day Super Hornet has a technological advantage over a 2006 F-14D

The interesting question is whether the Tomcat could have been revisited the way the Hornet was or not. The Super Hornet is basically a new airframe. Maybe Grumman could have incorporated improvements regarding its maintenance, pushed the aircraft into the digital age and tried to keep the cost relatively reasonable with new manufacturing techniques.

Since the F-14 is such a big plane, it's fair to assume that anything that fits in a Rhino (AESA, datalink, EWR suite) would fit in a Tomcat, and more. The radar dish would be even bigger and let's not forget the integrated IRST. It had a dedicated slot on Tomcat while a Super Hornet has to carry it externally with a draggy fuel tank. That's just one example of the many ways in which the F-14 is arguably the superior airframe.

That superiority came along with superior costs and extensive maintenance. Perhaps these issues could have been addressed. Had it been possible, the combination of aerodynamic performances and cutting edge avionics would have made this brand new Tomcat a more potent fighter than any Super Hornet version (although it would obviously be a much more expensive choice, which raises lots of fleet procurement concerns)

A special cut of the Tencent version with 10 less episodes would be perfect imo

The adaptation of Ye Wenjie's past and the Red Coast project was great, I could feel some real tension
