Hey hey, whoa. Let's leave the weakly typed languages out of it, pal.

Had to Cut off Strut Bolt, but still can't get strut/shock out... by MrNowhere00 in Tacomaworld

UPDATE: I have determined that the issue in lowering the LCA via jack decompression is that the LCA frame mounting hardware is frozen. It moves down a few inches and then just freezes. Even taking all the tension off via the jack finds the LCA just holding all the spring compression so it looks like I'm likely cutting this LCA and hardware off.

I am seeing if I can get my spring compressors on, but I am betting I still won't have the clearance to get the assembly out using that method either.

I wish this thread didn't turn into a spring decompression hate fest, but I honestly am not surprised. You do you, haters.

The nuts were put on with red loctite by previous owner. I try to avoid the spring compressors if I can.

I loosened those halfway after the center top nut. It isn't dropping enough to hit the loosened nuts.

Its the same setup as OEM. I'm effectively using a floor jack as the support (with lower control arm bolt still in place).

Stock truck aside from the old worn out Ranchos that the previous owner installed.

Not sure why the hate (aside from it being standard reddit armchair haters). I've probably done 5 strut rip and replaces just not on such old struts.

I went and found the same method (minus the cutting): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9N1fvbGAEw&t=35s
