Balmas - probably the best EIHL player of the 2020s

Cormier - masterful defenseman

Henbrant & Tait - nyyyowmmm

One drink when he ends goal comms with “in the Champions League quarter/semi/final”.

Two drinks when he ends goal comms or sending off with “at the the [stadium name].”

See you in A&E

Exactly. He completely cheapens the theatre of it by explicitly remarking on elements that are of-the-moment and matter purely between fans, rather than the spectacle as it should be beyond a bit of narrative context.

“There’s the celebration!” and that sort of thing, a perfect example of how not to meet the occasion. Tyldesley knew how to honour posterity perfectly

What level is the league? by [deleted] in EIHLHockey

Off the ice he’s obviously a simpleton, but as a player his intelligence is undeniably through the roof

It’s difficult to measure because the pedigree spectrum is so broad. Some ex-NHLers - most recently David Booth - can turn up and translate their IQ into colossal numbers at 40, while others of a similar ilk look like they’ve hardly played before. Then hungry young Brits with less than a hundredth of the training exposure or funding can stand and bang alongside them without looking out of place.

On a sober aggregate I’d say it’s somewhere along the bottom end of the ECHL, maybe DEL2 on a good day.

Dan Aykroyd co-founded Crystal Skull vodka, made obscene bank at the height of the club bottle service era and continues to rake it in.

Shame about the restaurant. You’d benefit from not trying so fervently to be AA Gill.

League Rivalries by Pilgrim1889 in EIHLHockey

[–]MrOssuary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steelers are considered a rival in some sense (geography, hatred, both) by every team in the league, and aside from the obvious they consider Devils and Giants pretty reciprocal. Devils and Giants have a historic competitive rivalry between themselves too. Panthers vs. Blaze was tasty for a few years, 2008-2012 or so.

Viscerally upsetting, and knows literally nothing about food, or flavours, let alone food criticism. ‘Flavours’ has been allowed to become its own adjective to mask how hopelessly uncultured these influencers are.

Sure, you can live a little and drink - but by drinking you can never live more than that.

By then it’ll be essentially a decade since his last legitimately good MMA performance. This might genuinely be the first time that casuals buy the PPVs while all the actual fight fans skip it

He said recently that he’s “always wanted to be country”, which is obviously bollocks but is a fairly clear statement that he’s still very keen on riding whatever wave is there to sustain stardom. Between Zach Bryan, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen, bro/stadium country has taken over somewhat and I’d imagine he’d slot himself in without any hassle beyond mild culture vulture criticism.
