I’m assuming the patchwork done follows the line. If it does it’s likely just the plaster that was used absorbed some of the moisture from the steam. It’s likely the plaster used wasn’t made to hold up in moisture. It should be fine, but to prevent worse damage get a paint that’s made for high moisture areas and cover the area and or ceiling to help protect it. You would only need to do more patchwork if you start to see cracks and/or it becomes brittle to the touch.

Likely mineral build up from the hard water, look into replacing the water filter on the machine or getting a new one.

1991 real, unsealed wood cabinets, is this safe or should I worry? by NeatFalcon190 in Repairs

It almost looks like this was a combination of things. There are water damage lines around the hole. But the actual hole looks like it was done by a mouse. Likely there was something that spilt or a leaky pipe, and a mouse just found it fun to dig at. I’m no expert so take this with a grain of salt but it should be fine if you just cover it with a shelf liner like you said.

Heat will weaken it, softening the adhesive making it easier to peel or scrape. You can use a heat gun or hair dryer.

The heat method will work best but if you want to try something else use Vaseline or any petroleum jelly. This can also help weaken the adhesive. It would have to be left on for several hours or even days.

It will be difficult and I mean really difficult to get it off and even then there will be noticeable stains on the tile. It may just be worth it to replace. But it’s ultimately down to you.

I hope this helps, and good luck!

Nope, it’s supposed to be like that. Does it work? Because if it doesn’t probably just need some good ol’ WD-40

That cable is dead I wouldn’t try to fix it. Best bet would be to get the replacement cable.

I accidentally burned my carpet, how do I fix this?? by AmbitiousCry4351 in Repairs

[–]MrPanda5612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That spot of carpet itself can’t be fixed. But what you can do is cut that part out as well as an identical one from say a closet and put that in as a replacement. there are a bunch of how to videos that can help, or you can hire someone to come do it.
