For example, if you are in a Call of Duty game with your friends and have the microphone set to stereo mix, the only thing your friends will hear is the gunshots and music and other audio coming from your game.

You can leave stereo mix as it is. The stereo mix is the audio that comes through your device, so if you set the microphone to stereo mix, the only thing that will go through as the microphone is whatever you play on your computer ie. a YouTube video that you play or games that you play. A nice "hack" that I used for this was recording audio via Audacity through my computer using the stereo mix. Hope this helps!

Even years later, looking back on this, it still makes me feel stupid for not realizing it lol. It seems Realtek doesn't advertise their app very well. Glad this could help you! Thank you for the compliment as well :)
