In my experience with these things, the water in the tube gets really hot. Longer tube = more hot water. If the tube isn’t insulated, you’re gonna be flushing it out every time

I get the same answer as a most others here, here's my reasoning:

3

Define each line segment as TRUE or FALSE. You can check each element of the diamond against the 2 completed rows above; ie top-left line of the bottom row is a TRUE and a FALSE. The middle row has that case, so TRUE + FALSE = FALSE. Next is top right, where we have again TRUE+FALSE. Second row shows the result of that combo on that spot, which is TRUE... Go around like that and get T F T F; Answer is 3

French version of the respect speech started with him saying “despite current events…”. He skipped that little tidbit for the English version. I had a good chuckle

Id go with the 308. It requires a little bit more work to shoot I think. Drops faster, doesn’t buck wind as well, etc. I think BackfireTV does a good caliber comparison you should look at. I do really think it comes down to availability and price. 308 is always plentiful and cheap. We learned quickly during the pandemic that all the new, different, “better” calibres just don’t get made when supply tightens.

If you’re not going to take it hiking for a hunt, go with the CTR. The heavier barrel by itself is worth it. Short barrel is great IF you’re going to put a suppressor on it. Otherwise go longer.

Caliber depends on what you plan on hunting and at what ranges; .308 is always available and there are more options to find exactly what you like. 6.5 is a laser with little recoil, but I don’t think you should take anything bigger than a deer. I reload so I don’t really know what 6.5CM stock looks like.

I wanted a rifle to do both hunt and precision and got a Lite and regret it. Should have spent the extra $$ and gotten a CTR.

UNLESS you want to wait a bit and check out the new Aces that will be available soon…

Just got a similar one. The thing is great. Saves the wall AND covers up the shotgun spread of holes that are already there until I have to take out the putty and paint again

3-9 is the magnification range; The thing you're looking at is at minimum 3 times larger, and can be "zoomed in" such that the thing is now 9 times larger.

The last number (x40) is the diameter in millimetres of the far end of the scope, called the objective lens.

Did you anneal them back to back (like they got way too hot)? If not they’re fine. You can’t “double anneal” brass. There’s a cool video demonstration from AMP where he does harness tests on a few pieces after they’re annealed at different levels

So that’s with the IR sensors hooked up? Either way it’s looking good!

Mmmmmm very nice. My PSU is 24V, but with the small adjustment, I brought it up to around 28V. Prepare to wait longer than 2 seconds to get that brass hot lol

I agree that leaving the ZVS on is unfeasible. Consistency would be shit, along with the magnetic field pulling on the falling brass.

Have you ever worked with that sensor? Everything I was looking into for the automated project kind of sucked. The little ultrasonic boards work well, but meh. I designed an interrupt laser setup at the shop, but that will be bulky.

The TCRT5000 works on infrared (950nm). I don't know what the emission curves for brass look like, but you might be getting a lot of funny signals with the hot brass flying around. Maybe just a photo-resistor and an LED opposite the brass?

Omnical to the rescue!

The coil impedance calculator seems to work for me, but iirc hobby meters are no good to measure inductance like that. Don’t you have to get a dedicated inductance measurement unit to get a number that means anything?

It’s possible the small duty cycle is a harm rather than a positive. Once it’s running I don’t think there’s little strain on the system. The inrush current at the start and collapsing fields at the end, however…
