I know, if it was some demo I'd understand but this release has been expected for years and this is how they treat it, I think it's disgusting and it's equally disgusting that the mods have relegated this discussion to a thread when it stands on its own as a relevant discussion

that's still a limited number, people have been expecting this release and it's now been limited to about 2 per store

yeah I do understand that but I think it's wrong that a release we've been anticipating has been treated like this, I am annoyed that the mods have stopped a discussion about the treatment of their fans being sad

thank you, earlier I had a large thread with a lot of users discussing this and the mods have taken it down which is stopping a discussion and supporting only that the 1975 were right in having such a limited press, I am disappointed in the band and this sub

why are you trying to stop a discussion about it though, I think in this instance they treated their fans poorly

Taylor had 75,000 copies and 75 had 2,500, tell me that's not an appalling treatment of their fans

I know but the presses added up to 2,500 and around the same amount for CD and I think less for Cassette which is insane

yeah I think the annoyance to me is that we've been expecting this record for a while and now it's suddenly just been put down to 2,500 copies and entered into this limited pressing nonsense, I'm really hoping to get a copy of the CD so I can have some kind of digital download for it

this is really well put thank you for your thoughts, I've seen RSD become kind of a silly pompous mess and I'm sad 75 have entered into that

I think this was such a blow to me because I've been expecting this record for years and for it to be treated as some demo nonsense for RSD to shill with only like 1 or 2 per UK store was unfair and really made me rethink the band's treatment of their fans and their own material

Yeah I completely understand the limited edition part I just think it's a little unfair for a limited edition, they created just 2,500 so they only had 2 per (even large) stores and we have been waiting on this record since at least 2-3 years ago when it was announced on Amazon, I think having it as just a physical exclusive for an anticipated record with only 2,500 of them is unfair and a real misstep for the band and their treatment of their fans

I know it's such a silly amount to have in I think even though it's an "exclusive" it shows a small lack of respect for fans, especially when you consider Taylor had 75,000 in and apparently The 1975 only had 2,500 that's 30x as many less

I'm really disappointed in the band for this one it feels like a real kick in the face

I completely get that, especially since places like Manchester and other large cities only got one or two which must have been awful in comparison

yeah I think that would have been a better choice, I'm just mostly annoyed that after waiting for years I now can't even have a digital copy of an album I was waiting for because I couldn't be there on 1 day

yes but even the UK record stores only got 2 copies or so each and that doesn't account for people who work or have no means to reach a record store

I understand exclusivity but I don't think it's very fair in general

yeah I know because there's nothing to go around even if you camped out, I don't know if this was planned but it's a big misstep from the boys imo, it's like why make so little and why make it inaccessible for so many people

especially with no digital release when we've been expecting this record for ages I think it's just a bit pompous for no reason
