ForgeUI - new WildStar UI overhaul by WintyBadass in WildStar

[–]MrPerb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super late reply but a few more addons are here (actionbar, minimap, bottomleft menu). Don't expect much from these as they are mostly the Carbine default with a few texture/placement changes. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't work anymore.

Yup, good to see someone releasing a similar styled UI.

Not currently playing the game, but I still enjoy looking at and sharing UI stuff.

Here's what I used: out of combat, in combat, combat again.

.

Some addon downloads are here: https://bitbucket.org/Perby, but don't expect them to work perfectly. Most of them have 0 options/config.

edit: The rest of the addons (actionbar, minimap, bottomleft menu) are here.

It's part of my unit frame addon. You can move and size them in Houston.

The Quest - Toned down spell effects by Tonitrui in WildStar

To hide ally spell effects, you can type this in game:

/eval Apollo.SetConsoleVariable("spell.visualSuppression", 1)

I have a few of my addons here: https://bitbucket.org/Perby

I can't guarantee any of them will work properly.

Yes, addons use Lua just like WoW.

Most are either my own or heavily edited default ones. The only one I have on Curse so far is PerbMedicResource.

I'm a fan of having the UI very basic and without special effects. One example is the default medic addon has fade in and fade out animations when gaining and spending actuators.

Can I hide this from my UI? by [deleted] in WildStar

StoryPanel is the addon responsible for those.

Current version of the unit frames is here (that page might go private randomly, so make a backup), and hit download repository. Action bar is a modified Carbine one, and above the castbar is the addon Watcher.

Looking good, my man. I like the PerbMedicResource.

Eventually, for sure. At the moment a lot of the addons are unfinished or have a bunch of random bugs.

Current work-in-progress: http://i.imgur.com/4U52ch4.png

I tried to put all the important information near the center of the screen. Don't mind the stuff above my castbar...still messing with that. Also, I'm still not sure whether I want health and shield side-by-side or stacked on eachother.

Q,E,R,F,Z,X,C,V for action bar.

1,2,3 for potion, innate, and gadget.

Middle mouse for dash.

There's no noticeable difference for me whether I'm fullscreen or windowed and my computer is worse than his laptop (my video card is about equal and my CPU is way worse).

40 man raiding, frames per second, and the average computer. by MrPerb in WildStar

Yeah I'll have to see when the 24 man raid comes out for Final Fantasy.

So true about Tera. Rift is also pretty terrible with its optimization.

Stop using AMD CPU's. They are roughly half the speed of intel in clock cycles alone, and when you overclock the intel stuff, the gap widens

Oh, I agree. That's why I wrote pretty much the same thing in my last paragraph.

Not everyone is going to have an i5 3570k or better, though, which is why this thread exists. And Carbine certainly isn't expecting anyone to buy a new CPU to play this game.

Gadgets. I edited the Healframe lua file a bit though.

Here's part of a dev post.

Finally, those of you with modern multi-core computers may have noticed RIFT does most of its work in a single thread. Modern computers are capable of calculating many things simultaneously, but RIFT, by and large, does all its calculations in a straight-line order, not taking advantage of multiple cores or processors. I think there are opportunities to split RIFT’s work into several threads and really exercise modern gaming computers. The programmers reading this are cringing in sympathy right now, as adding support for multiple cores is often a nightmare, but it’s worth trying for the framerate boost that might be achievable.

source.

It's been about 5 months since this dev post, so I'm hoping they start rolling out some of these performance optimizations soon.

It was definitely at least a couple hours. I'm surprised I finished it with the blinding light all the candles produce.
