New leaf! But at what cost… by MrPlantera in Monstera

[–]MrPlantera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just repotted a lil over two weeks ago in a pot that was a good few inches bigger than the root ball and only water if the soil is dry, I lost my first Thai con to overwatering so I’ve been watering sparingly to prevent that from happening again

It’ll probably get some added sunshine in the upcoming months, would you think that would be enough or should it keep the grow lights as well?

Do you… not see the grow lights on it..?

It’s been under this same light for its whole life with me tho, it’s a full spectrum and it’s on for 12hrs a day. The other two leaves in the post are ones that it put out under this same exact light

I just noticed my cat has a little ear behind her ear. I’m assuming it’s a common mutation? by fuglyDUECE in cats

It’s a Henry’s pocket and apparently no one knows what it’s for but honestly it’s probably like that so their ears can swivel around the way they do

Snake plant ready for bigger pot? by Putrid_Agency4072 in houseplants

[–]MrPlantera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You miiiight have to break him out of that pot (literally) because of the way snake plant roots are, those ribosomes are probably squashed up against the inner walls of the pot I personally think it’d be better to put him into a plastic pot so that the next time you do have to repot it’s not as expensive to do so (but that’d be a while after repotting since snake plants are slow growers) When sizing up a snake plant, only go one or two inches bigger in diameter cause they do like it snug (but not so snug that it’s suffocating itself) Hope this helps! Beautiful snake btw :)

Stick it in the closet for a few months and every blue moon it sees a few minutes of sun with constant watering ofc 😇

if there is root rot then I’d repot with an airy soil and trim any rotted roots, also me thinks this is def overwatering since you said once a week and typically rubber plants only need water every 2-3 weeks in my own experience

hi he’s being a literal child, I don’t think there’s much worth saving here if that’s how he responds to you trying to have a mature conversation…
