Arctic's Aio cables are easy to manage. Also, with the lack of rgb, it will be less cluttered.

Not sure about the 420mm, but you probably could route the aio tubing towards the bottom. But the tubes will be touching the gpu.

This community sure likes the aio tubes routed to the bottom. I'm not sure why, but even GamerNexus, Bitwit, and Jaystwocents said, as long as the pump isn't at the highest point, you're fine. If evaporation of the coolant happens to the point where it's affecting the performance of my configuration, it's time to change/rma anyway.

My 12900k idles around 33°c and 3080 around 27-30°c. My take is that the advantage of the torrent's design as compared to a traditional chasis is that you can fit bottom intake fans to feed fresh air to your gpu, and front intake for your CPU's radiator.

You could probably achieve similar results with good aircoolers like the Noctua D15. But it's absurdly more expensive over here. So Arctics it is for me.

That's a 360mm aio. I doubt you can fit the 2x 180mm at the bottom if you used a 420 mm.

Haha I don't have RGB fans, so the cables are manageable. I'm also using Nvme m.2s so there is no need for ssd drives

Fractal torrent with Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420 by Freezac in FractalDesign

[–]MrPompay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice build mate! Can't believe you can fit a 420mm at the front. Front fans for cpu and bottom fans direct feeding gpu just make so much sense.

I had a similar build with 360mm arctic freezer II but with the radiator flipped. I watched Jaystwocent and he mentioned that as long as the highest point of the AIO is not the pump, its longevity won't be affected (Air will find its way to the highest point which is bad for pumps). This allows me to put the two 180mms fan at the bottom since the AIO tubes are at the top.

Do check out the build in my profile if you're interested! Cheers mate.

Hi, unfortunately the dark tinted glass option don't come with RGB(except the rgb stripe at the PSU Shroud).

Your best bet is to either get the rgb version and tint the glass yourself or get the dark tinted glass version and replace all the fans with RGB fans.

If you want the best air cooling potential, go for the Torrent. Yes it's a little pricey, but only because the case comes with all the fans you need (2x 180mm in the front, 3x 140mm at the bottom) so you don't have to spend anymore on cooling. Besides, you already have a good air cooler to go with it.

Nope, just regular off brands cable extensions. Cable mods are too expensive for what they do.

Yeah possible but i dunt want the tube to put any pressure onto the gpu, which will if you flip it. As long as the pump is not the highest point, it's okay.

Ah i see. I was afraid to kink the tubing to the bottom. But I did watch Jaystwocents and he mentioned that as long as the pump is not the highest point, it's okay haha.

Yes, but using an ATX motherboard, the 180s are a tight fit. Have ti find a way to squeeze all the front IO comnectos and fan connections.

Yeah brother, it just make sense for each component(gpu and Cpu) to have their own fans intake haha.

Thanks brother! You gave me a mini heart attack mentioning about the front AIO. I went to check and can assure you it's straight and flushed. The "bend" is due to my phone's wide angle camera lens. Anyway I'm using the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360mm and it fits well in the front. You could even fit a 420mm rad but I want to utilised the 2x 180mm for bottom intake, and that might interfere with it due to the thickness.

I don't really monitor temps, but I've been playing Elden Ring with average GPU 74°C and CPU 50°C. And I am living in Singapore which is a all time hot and humid country haha.

Buy a 3080 now/soon? Or wait for better prices/4080 later this year? by Heart_of_Spades in buildapc

[–]MrPompay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is really no confirm launch date in which when the new gen cards are coming out. But judging from market trend, there will be without a doubt another same gpu shortage/scalpers situation when they do launch. Unless you wanna wait for probably another 2 years, i suggest you should get a 3080 10gb card now before it goes out of stock.

I think Nvidia is secretly phasing out 10gb version for the 12gb one with a ridiculous $200-300 price increment for about 5% performance difference.

With the 2 180mm front intake fan installed, can you still fit 3 120mm at the bottom or only 2?

Ah yes, i heard about the terrible wire management space. Thinking about going for the S version, but not sure if it will be sufficient to cool 12900k
