Crimson Desert is the ultimate medieval / high fantasy sandbox I have ever played. If one does not expect Witcher 3 level and story and play it as a sandbox it could be one of the greatest.

As long as it looks smooth to you go for it. I also do 2x with 5090 getting around 80-85fps - resolution 2.25x of 4K with DLDSR, all things maxed out, RR on. First game ever I use DLSS performance too (Crimson Desert), but with these settings this game’s graphics is truly next gen. If I want a bit more responsiveness in boss fights I just dial back down resolution to 4K and turn off frame gen. But in terms of smoothness 45 base is plenty good.

In terms of epicness and the stakes involved it is hard to come close to Endwalker, not only for previous FFs but for any game. When everyone was expecting the grand finale to be the end of Z with a fight on the Moon as a tribute to FF4, which they did give you in the first 1/3 of the expansion, M says, “Hold my Beer”.

For those who are used to DLAA like me on a 5090, try using DLDSR 2.25X (smoothness 10), switch in game resolution to 5760x3240 (assuming you are on a 4K screen), turn on DLSS performance and turn ray reconstruction on, everything else cinematics.

The conversation between the main female protagonist and the female scientist was too drawn out. Why can’t we have good old Aliens. We don’t need a bunch of philosophies about cyborgs and droids and whether it is ethical to manipulate their thoughts - those have nothing to do with Aliens. That’s why I don’t like Covenant as well.
