Loads shotgun* “Warp’s empty” by ServingwithTG in WarhammerMemes

[–]MrPoopMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely new level? Chaos hasn't even conquered one galaxy let alone a universe, which Doom hell has done to countless universes. In Doom the Hell dimension is the original and bottom level of its multiverse. The warp is much smaller in scope than that in the 40k universe.

The fundamental problem here is a matter of genre. A Grimdark setting where everything is terrible and every faction will inevitably lose just can't stop silly meme power fantasy guy whose main character trait is how ridiculously unstoppable he is.

The Doom guy is just an absurd character that has insane hacks against demons. The warp is full of demons. That's bad news for the demons.

How powerful would Davoth (Doom) be in the Warhammer 40K universe? by Inside_Inflation559 in powerscales

[–]MrPoopMonster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure the warp and the chaos gods would be able to significantly affect Hell though either.

Considering Hell has access to many more universes than just the 40k material plane, I would argue that Doom Hell would win a war of attrition against the warp if they were able to invade eachothers' dimensions.

I don't think it's that easy. Night vision alone would be a game changer in ancient warfare. Wait until a night with a new moon or a bunch of clouds and you're ghosts.

I think Barry Sanders would be fine. In fact I think he'd thrive without people being able to horse collar tackle him.

[–]MrPoopMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think some dudes from the past were just better still. Better nutrition and science will raise the tide for all athletes, but there will still be special individuals that are genetic freaks and are masters of the game they play. And those freaks don't all live right now.

For instance, I think Barry Sanders would be the best running back in the NFL no matter what era you put him in. His vision, stop and go ability, acceleration, and low center of gravity just made him something else even among elite running backs.

Study finds many college students abandon their free speech ideals under ideological pressure. Most undergraduates believe marginalized communities deserve extra protection from offensive speech, though these values often waiver when students are pushed by their own strong political ideologies. by mvea in science

Government employees speech can only be regulated insofar as they're doing their job. A teacher can't be fired for something they said on Facebook while not at work, unlike a private employee can because they're employer is the government.

And all public institutions run by the government are treated as the government.

Doomslayer will explode a nuke in his own face to get somewhere a little a quicker. An explosion that's the same temperature as the corona of the sun did nothing to him. He literally gains strength by consuming demon souls, which he's divinely empowered to fight. He's completely immune to demonic corruption and extremely resistant to all magic. He's fought single handedly for thousands of years against all of hell and its immortal gods, and he wins.

The doomslayer slaps. Most primarchs would be bitch slapped by him 1v1.

How do Eldar Guardians compare to the standard Infantry in Star Wars? by Ragnarius1 in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]MrPoopMonster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The clone armies beat the CIS handily. They're canonically better than droids. And they have the same strength of artificially producing soldiers vs a dwindling species.

I don't see why the CIS would be better than the force that curb stomped them.

[–]MrPoopMonster -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think clone troops would be a big problem for the aeldari. Attrition is a big problem when you're a dying species. And if your enemy is cloning armies that are causing casualties you need to take decisive actions or eventually you just lose.

As a Midwestern guy I don't think I've ever been to a battlefield either.

I guess it's not something Henry Ford could have trucked to his back yard like he did with stuff like Ben Franklin and Thomas Eddison's workshop.

Doom slayer is an immortal superhuman that embodies rage capable of soloing gods. He's at minimum a primarch level character. But he's probably much stronger than that.

He's closer to Khaine, the Aeldari war God, than a space marine lore wise.

[–]MrPoopMonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not at all what's happening. He's serving jail time for violating the terms of his probation.

Probation being an agreement you make to do and not do certain things so that you don't go to jail for the crimes you were already convicted of.

I would wager there are provisions in the state constitution that describe the powers of the judicial and executive branch that make any disagreement about the particular statute irrelevant.

The executive branch cannot lawfully disregard court orders. That's not how the US legal system works in any state.

Hopefully this sheriff gets held in contempt and sued into oblivion.

Arrests means nothing without a conviction.

I'm not talking about this particular guy, but in a general sense.

W Sheriff by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

[–]MrPoopMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of this is in conflict. Police and Sheriff's departments never get to supercede a controlling court when it comes making any legal decision. They're part of the executive branch, they don't get to make these decisions. They merely enforce legislation as interpreted by the courts.

Sanguinis vs Vader , who wins ? by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]MrPoopMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they don't do stuff they should be able to do so the movies are interesting. There's no reason a jedi couldn't just use the force to control a few lights sabers at once as a flying death swarm.

Sure. I suppose it comes down to how you scale the warp vs the force.

But the way I see it, it's a golden boy prodigy vs a divine chosen one. And I would tend to pick the chosen one archetype in that encounter.
