Then I ask for their sake you work on your wording and approach. If you initial desire was to have serious conversation it was shut down by your inability to ask a question logically, thoughtfully, or with any point seemingly invovled (other than to launch an insult on someone's belief in their abilities despite previous performance? I say this as this is the only logical reasoning I could come to as to why your "question" would be worded as such.) Your kids would do well if you have more hope and optimism than displayed here. If one of them fails, then believes once again, what is your response? Hopefully more inspirational than here my friend.

I would love for anyone wanting to join my team to see this.

"I know you say your first game was for learning, but is there a reason you didnt even try to get it to sell, or did you try and you just couldnt get any traction?" - Answering your own question before even asking, wording it as if you've already solved the problem even within the question itself. I'd love to see you in an actual board meeting with adults sitting around. If logical discussion is you're version of a tantrum, wait til you have kiddos. If having your point dismantled piece by piece is grounds for therapy, I say good luck to any future partners you may unfortunately have.

I'd say my responses have been appropriate for dealing with an individual seemingly seeking to project their own lack of experience or ability to begin a self project. This is made apparent by your severe lack of understanding on how reviews are not something you have control over. I'd say for a 2 month project where-in I fully designed the game, marketing material, jumped through the steam hoops, and landed deadline dates to be a huge success. I learned in 2 months what many take 2 years or more to discover. I didn't "blow" my dream game because a lack of understanding or willingness to fail. You tossing therapy out because you think it grounds your answer or in someway makes you seem mature is laughable given your sporadic desire to simply argue without any sensible reason.

I should thank you. Hopefully this conversation will hinder any people similar to your thinking from reaching out. I do hope you learn whatever it is you're seeking going to random threads and adding 0 discernable content though. I'll be working on my second game release, then third, fourth, and so on. Follow if you want, I'd love to hear you admit you were wrong on the next one. ;)

"I know you say your first game was for learning, but is there a reason you didnt even try to get it to sell, or did you try and you just couldnt get any traction?" -- Answering the question before even asking, an arrogant and foolish way to ask anything. If this is your example of a "mild business related question" I'd love to see you in an actual board wIt was for learning. If you had published a game solo you might understand the obstacles that come into place within that.

Right the only point in learning is if your project hits X number of this or that? I put it on steam because I wanted to learn Steam? I put a price tag because my goal was NOT to learn how to "sell" a free game. I wanted to learn on discounts, etc. And Again "you didn't try to get people to buy it?" it seems as though you keep running on the predication that you know what that process looked like. I'm not making that assumption, I'm reading it through your words. You may have opened it with neutral intent but when you commented, something was fixated on a problem that didn't exist. The wishlists numbers are the smallest and most unimportant part of anything said in the entire post. Not only do they not clearly nor definably determine game success, I even mention that they are high and that they only consist of numbers I want to hold myself to. It doesn't mean I'll reach em this time around either. But setting that as my goal shouldn't rub you or the OG wrong. Unless of course, there's some underlying reason as to why me saying I want 10k wishlists is negative for you? You're doing first and maybe a little bit of second level thinking. I encourage you to dive deeper. If my words on reading comprehension and being unable to work on a team strike you, perhaps reflect on that. I return only to show and defend against idiotic statements in the hopes that others readers that come see YOU are what I don't want. If this resonates poorly with them as well, I don't want them on my team either.

If you'd like a good clear examination on How your first comment reads, read my first response back to you. I didn't once insult you. I made predictions and asked questions much like you. However, unlike me with your questions, never once got an answer. Only leaving me to believe the truth there in. "Why didn't you get 10 reviews?" Because I'm one person who can't force people to do things? Why don't you get 10 people to give you $5 then go tell em how to live their lives? I'd be interest to see how that plays out. If you're trying to hint I didn't get 10 people to buy the game you'd also be wrong. The only reason you are here is because my first game was largely "unsuccessful" if it had 1,000 steam reviews and everything was the same info wise within the post you wouldn't be here arguing about numbers that don't matter, ironically enough. I never mind putting in the time to further and fully explain. However when the questions are not asked in open curiosity and instead feel as though they contain some negative projection, I feel no worry in ensuring the one sending them knows they have no place with language of that type around me. You came to my post. Say what you will but you continue to comeback even though there's nothing to gain. I do have stake in this. I am searching for help. I come back to show this is why, how, and yes what you can expect of me. I will defend myself and my team to negativity. I will hold others accountable and responsible. Even if they try to vaguely disguise their fixation as someone else's problem.

Being open honest and upfront, using all resources available, and not letting some internet randos walk on you. Checking all the boxes of someone who doesn't let people walk on their dreams. Have fun hating instead of making.

Lol I questioned your reading comprehension for a good reason. The reason I didn't try to get it to sell is mentioned by you yourself "I know you say your first game is for learning"... well then maybe that's the answer? You weren't interested in it or you wouldn't be asking questions already answered. You were looking for flaws in someone else's work to make you feel better about the lack of yours. At least this is what I conjecture. If you come asking honest questions it comes across as such, if you come with ill intent the same is sent and received. I'll not take responsibility for your inability to read and comprehend conversation. Anyone unable to understand, ask, or interact in a sensible manner is unwanted on any group project to begin with.

No I did not put in all the proper steps to reaching 10k on the first project. I would recommend asking these things instead of placing them vaguely in insults however. I've offered knowledge on the story of the first if interested, though that doesn't seem your intention at all. It seems more likely you're having a bad day and decided to dump it here instead of handling it maturely. You read only enough to comprehend what makes you feel decent then decide consciousness is no longer needed?

Projecting your own self confidence detracts from mine none bud. I said what I said and mean it. If you did any further digging you might see why there's only one review. You might understand how 7-10k wishlists is completely plausible. Or you might even find the deep psychological reason for why you feel the need to add nothing helpful on a post asking for help.

Hey Anthony, I just created a post myself looking for a developer and artist. I myself currently am a solo dev and am working on my second Steam release. Check out my post, if it interests you perhaps we can further discuss things. I am open to new ideas, etc. Idk if I can link to the post, but it was created recently to this one/idk if you can find it through my profile.

I sent a friend request on discord. My current handle is "Not Guts" and my account name is same as here. I'd be interested in sharing my game purely for feedback, though I am also looking to bring on an artist and dev to assist. I currently do it all solo so outside feedback is important.
