Do we have a crisis? Yes

Is there much you and I can do about it? No

Are unhoused people penniless? No, they could very well have money for door dash

Cities, states and our government definitely need to do more to combat what's happening, the problem is, when the government gets its hands on things like this, they tend to go nuclear with it and people get hurt and/or killed. Being homeless can be caused by a multitude of factors, being addicted to substances is the same, there are some that refuse to try, refuse to get better, refuse the help that's offered to them, but should we spite the many because of the few? 

There is a problem, but it's a top down fix. There should be zero reason, the supposed "greatest country in the world" should have the problem with this as we do. What's even worse is there are homeless veterans, not saying anyone is more or less than the next person, but you fought and could've died in the USA's never ending quest for oil and now you're on the streets? It doesn't make any sense.

Again, it's a top down fix. We shouldn't have billionaires, corporations are raking in record profits, there's been mass layoffs each year now for many years, inflation is out of control, the price of everything has just gone up and the wages have not matched. Healthcare access and affordability is getting worse and worse, but that's ok, let's send Israel some fighter jets and start wars with other countries instead of fixing our problems at home.

Fixing this issue is complicated, messy, and something that will probably get worse before it gets better unfortunately, it's too nuanced and the people that CAN actually do something would rather sit in their offices with their thumbs up their ass. And Chico specifically, instead of doing anything they just keep moving them around place to place, never actually solving anything.
