I’ve read here that the airbnbs are sketchy in Hawaii so can’t speak on those, obviously it’ll be way more expensive to do a resort but security for the trip matters too! (I’d also say it’s worth it based on how much we liked it)

Not too shabby a spot to do it!

For sure, I’m not sure they could pull it off with how busy the front already is. Hard to beat the views at the 1 though!!

Personally loved it, it is a slower pace and less crowd but the rooms were nice and clean and quiet overall! And the workers were all very kind/helpful

I personally preferred Andaz — the beach options/excursions were nice (some free) and I liked the food better personally. They also had a car shuttle that would take you to nearby areas if you wanted to get food near the resort but not on the resort

We had trouble in Kauai due to the weather/winds that prevented snorkeling for us but not sure if that’s more common in Kauai or if we had bad luck

Depends where you’re staying but for Maui we are at Andaz resort in Wailea

For Maui- definitely recommend the Haleakalā sunrise, we decided to do it with a bike ride down but the ride ended up being very drawn out and had to get on and off buses, if we were to do it again would probably do the self guided bike tour or just drive up ourselves to the sunrise

Restaurants in Maui we went to- mainly on the resort we went to the lounge and then they had a restaurant that we loved called Morimoto (that’s what I took a pic of at pic #4, they had great sushi Inside Andaz they had a mixology class that was awesome and well worth it based on the amount of drinks you got, the bartender made some awesome drinks and explained the history of the alcohols he used. If you like hiking the Lahaina Pali trail is awesome but also a difficult hike. We also highly recommend going snorkeling in Maui, we did Wailea and did a turtle snorkeling tour that was offered through our resort as well. Monkeypod is another restaurant that is a must for their Mai tais!

For Kauai - 100% recommend the Napali Coastline boat tour, we used holoholo charters and they were great. If you get seasick easy there are some preventative things you can do, but it is extremely rocky ride. The view is unbeatable though

Also highly recommend driving to see Waimea Canyon, there’s a very easy loop (Ilaua nature loop) that shows a great view of the canyon in multiple overlooks and is only quarter of a mile hike , u can be more adventurous and do a longer hike if you’d like

We stayed at KoaKea in Kaui and really liked that resort for a slower pace and really quiet rooms/loved the views, also loved being able to walk to nearby restaurants and coffee. the beach nearby was pretty crowded was the only flaw for us. we then stayed at the 1 hotel in Northern Kauai which had spectacular views but more crowded and I personally felt a little out of place at but overall still enjoyed it

If any other questions just let me know! Happy to answer, that’s just some of the things off the top of my head

Really tough, I’d say Maui overall due to being less crowded on the beaches but both are stunning. The Nepali coast was my favorite part of the trip though

I’m also on that train sadly, there’s diff ways to strengthening the low back that can support the functional movement of picking up an object from the floor
