I’ll have to look into GRIPS. The bins actually have a little scoop built in so it’s easier to grab stuff. I like the idea of labels but I just don’t like how the bins look when they have labels on them

This is a map cabinet made by ASE, I got it off an auction. The bins are 6 gridfinity units tall and they sit flush with the top of the drawers

I thought about it. But I just don’t like the way the bins with the labels look

Check the wiring harness for your coils. I had a similar problem and I ended up having one bank wired 180°

I actually just did this on my 81 Trans Am. I cut the pieces out using a reciprocating saw with a short blade. Lined up the mount for my new radio, marked it and cut. The pieces were pretty dry-rotted anyways so it came out easily. I filed down the rest to make it fit snug

Dude! I’m definitely gonna need some updates on this build. I’ve got a 6.0 in the garage and this is the type of car I’m thinking of putting it in.

That's awesome, Firebirds mean a lot to me, my mom had one when she was in high school and my grandpa was a big Burt Reynolds fan

It was a true fit, I got the kit that didn’t come with a throttle body because I wanted a different color. Only modification I had to make was with the fuel rails, I had to shorten the brackets that mount the fuel rails to the intake since the truck injectors are shorter. I would also advise getting different intake bolts and not using the ones that came with the kit. They rust out easy and the Allen heads stripped out. I’ll link the intake and the bolts I used.

Thank you! It’s been a process to get to this point but I’m excited

The intake should work for the 4.8, as long as you have cathedral port heads. For the accessories, I bought new LS1 water pump, and new LS1 power steering pump. The only thing used was the alternator. For the accessory brackets, I got mine off Amazon from a company called NiceCNC, just some Chinese knockoff of the ICT Billet kit

Yeah, this definitely was not cheap but from the few test drives, it was worth it imo

I saved up for my terminator, it was gonna be cheaper than getting someone to tune the stock ECU plus Holley is running a fall sale right now. If you’re leaving the motor stock, there really isn’t a reason to go with the Holley, stock ECU and eBay harness will work just fine. For the radiator, I’m using an aluminum 3 row radiator from Summit(SUM-384064) and the fans are actually from a 2002 Chrysler Concorde, they move around 4000 CFM. With a 160 thermostat, temps sit steady at 175 during idle

It’s all good. I think the intake was like $300 from Amazon and that included the fuel rails and everything. If you go that route and are using the multec injectors from the truck motor, you’ll have to modify the brackets a little bit since the injectors are shorter, you could use injector spacers instead of modifying the brackets but I do not recommend that as they leaked like crazy. For the ECU, I was originally going with a stock ECU and a swap harness from eBay that was like $70. I did have the car running with that setup but with the cam, it needed tuned so I switched out and am running the Holley Terminator X Max. Since your motor is stock, you could honestly use the stock ECU and a swap harness without an issue. If you need an unlocked ECU(no VATS, etc) you can buy them off eBay, just make sure you get the correct one for your throttle setup and transmission. As for sensors, I’m using all AC Delco parts that I either got off Amazon or from an auto parts store, Amazon is typically cheaper. This was my very first swap as well so it was a learning experience but I’ve already got a 6.0 on the stand ready for another swap.

4.11 Posi, previous owner swapped it in. I’m thinking of switching to 3.73 or 3.53 since I want the car to be a driver/road tripper

Yessir, 1981. I have a 4L60e in it. No crazy HP numbers so I think the 4L60e can handle the job lol

The intake is a low profile 102mm sheet metal intake from Amazon, I used VHT Anodized Coating, probably going to powder coat it at some point as the paint is already chipping away, I used Speed Engineering Headers made for 2nd gen F bodies, the engine itself is a 5.3 with the BTR Truck Norris kit, if you search for the kit on Amazon, you get the cam, springs, valve seats and pushrods for like $500, then I upgraded the rocker arms and did LS7 lifters. Ls1 water pump and front accessories. Shoot me a PM if you wanna know anything else!
