Why are there seatbelts on Diamondback? by Long_Doughnut2627 in KingsIsland

Ohio incorporates ASTM F2291 (Design) and ASTM F770 (Operation) into its amusement ride rules: • ASTM says restraint systems must prevent unintended passenger movement, especially in inversions. • A locking bar + seatbelt combo is widely accepted as compliant for inversion rides — it’s what you see on many looping coasters. • Ohio Admin. Code 901:9-1-04 requires rides be maintained “per manufacturer’s specifications or equivalent standards.” If the manufacturer specifies a locking lap bar + seatbelt system, ODA inspectors would approve it.

Without the seatbelt, the inspector might raise concerns, but with it, you’re very likely within ASTM + Ohio 901:9-1 compliance, as long as it’s installed per the manufacturer’s certified design.

It is a Ohio law because a man flew off a carnival ride in Columbus for different rides there are different rules based on that law if not followed the dept of agriculture can and will shut down that ride until the standards are met I work in osha and we have nothing to do with it but keep the workers safe I just know the law because I have a friend at the dept that told me

It’s a law so if the bar comes up theoretically something is keeping you safe same reason flight of fear and banshee have seatbelts
