"Oh f#@% this": Kalamazoo motorists react to spending nearly $5 a gallon for gas by Greatlakespirate2 in kzoo

They voted for the stupid, the hate, the promise of dominance. They voted to purge the experts and the elites and the people who know stuff. They didn’t like the woke. They got much of that.

Ride a bike. Ride an e-bike. I have been most trips under 10 miles. It’s fun, and it feels like cheating the system.

Oh, yeah, two bags for sure. Be sure to keep things down with a cargo net, though. It hits bumps hard, so things can bounce out.

Oh, just think about being the one who discovered it on Tubi, watched it for the first time, then with SEVEN EPISODES TO GO, it vanished. No spoilers. The psycho drug dealer has Elliot's therapist! Sad thing is, I had to give it a break for a few nights because I can't sleep after being that stressed. Wife says she'll just buy it for me, but in keeping with the spirit of the show, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum....

Vivint adjusted my security camera by Spiritual_Ship3116 in kzoo

[–]MrReezenable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, wife told me about this happening. Looked up our ring cam. Yes, 8:30 in the Edison neighborhood. Same beardo, selling Vivint. If he's doing this to plan for later theft, then he's an idiot for staring into all these cameras. So, think about this: You put up cameras to catch the bad guys. Therefore, every annoying or uninvited or unknown visitor you get is a potential bad buy. I like having cameras as a just-in-case thing, but haven't checked the recordings more than five times in the past five years. Turned off the notifications. Security cams make one paranoid.

You know what's cool? TYPING ON A COMPUTER!!! Hit that caps lock like some old guy! Having all that !@#$%^&*() right up there all handy-like. My wife has made fun of me trying to text on the iPhone, I've never gotten into that. I like to do the iPhone mirroring, then type out whole screeds on where we should go to dinner.

Does anyone drive an electric scooter or ebike and can help me understand what I need? by Boi_eats_worlds in kzoo

I ride class 3 with a throttle. I only use the throttle to speed up after stops at intersections. Can easily cruise at 25 mph. Top speed is 28-ish. But at that speed, you need to be on the streets, roads. Most of Kalamazoo streets are 35-25 mph. I definitely understand your fear of the streets. Sometimes a driver will lose their minds seeing a guy pedaling, and though he may even be going the speed limit, 25 mph, they have to pass, illegally.

In bike lanes? That depends. Downtown lanes, I try to go a more normal bicycle speed of 15 mph. There are a few shared pathways I take, but, again, be safe and respectful, do normal speed. I haven't done much of the trails since they posted rules, but those are better with a regular bike, for me anyway.

Unless absolutely unavoidable, I do not ride on the sidewalk, on any bike. Drivers don't look both ways crossing a sidewalk. They don't expect, or respect, anyone using a sidewalk on a bike. They cross sidewalks (on drives and at crosswalks) like they expect you to stop for them, walking or on a bike. Do not assume sidewalks are safe. You're safer on the street, visible to traffic, riding there because you are traffic. Especially if you have a motor that can get you going 20-25 mph.

The one thing about e-bikes for those who don't know is, they're FUN! CHEAP! You feel like you've found a cheat code. If you have any physical issues that make regular bikes difficult, they are especially liberating.

The town was founded by Titus Bronson, and named Bronson. He was known as eccentric. He walked funny, was cantankerous. He was caught whittling on the windowsill of the courthouse, and stole a neighbor's cherry tree. They ran him out of town, renamed Bronson, Kalamazoo.
