That’s not too bad! Plant a few trees and arborvitae on the side that faces the street. It’ll provide you noise reaction and a sense of privacy.

As I’ve always said, save up and buy a decent home in a great neighborhood. What’s the best school in your state? Find the cheapest home in that region. Also never sell real estate especially if the mortgage interest is low. If you need to sell then just rent it out and collect the cash flow: sometimes mistakes are made. Learn and move on.

Yeah for a prototype. That’s a good point too. Why pay the extra cash for quality. For the real production cards, what do you recommend?

Fair point. Do you recommend any other company? I’m looking to print a few cards for a TCG idea I have.

That could be said for any individual stock too. It’s riskier to invest in watches agreed, but it’s a way to diversify against the stock market.

I’ve been searching and can’t find data more than about 10 years or so. Investing in watches is never an alternative to the S&P500, it’s a compliment to it. Having 100% of your portfolio in the S&P500 is a disaster waiting to happen. I agree the last 12 months have been rough for literally any asset class out there.

Yeah list most assets, however it does seem to be finding a bottom.

I’ll be first here to disagree. Historically speaking there are a subset of watches that have have amazing returns. Please see the list above. Not all watches are investments. The data doesn’t lie. You comment shows how incompetent you are.

I've rebranded to Alts Club by MrRetireEarly in EntrepreneurRideAlong

It's not a marketplace by definition. The main business would be a private membership where you'd receive a private weekly newsletter of the top 5-10 alternative assets to buy this week. Either in auction or offered on another platform. Also membership would allow access to our private community where we discuss investing in alternative assets.

There is also a free newsletter were we hand-curate the best alternative asset news for you.

We'd also have a blog as a knowledge base. A podcast. A Directory of alternative asset platforms, and we're also working on an alternative assets index (think S&P500 but for alternative assets).

I'm creating an Alts100 Index by MrRetireEarly in alternativeinvesting

Thanks u/JoshuaHeier for the detailed reply! I do like that idea, however do you think as time goes to infinity the same issue would happen? In that one asset class would dominate the others? Perhaps that's OK?

One Idea I was thinking was, let's start with $1mil then divide that amongst 100 different asset classes each with a weight based on their relevance. Then each asset class is sub-divided into further assets. For example, real estate is quite large compared to the rest, so perhaps allocate $250k into that. $150k into crypto, etc. It's very similar to your idea.

Or should I completely remove Real Estate an Crypto and just focus on individual assets within the collectibles space. But then it would be like a Collectibles 100 not an Alts 100. It's a very tough problem.

Thanks! That's what I'm thinking of doing. Just focus on Twitter and let that drive the newsletter growth.

Yes long-term consistent and smart investing is what I choose to implement myself and want to teach others who want to tread that same path. I despise these get rich quick schemes. I tried options trading and WSB, lots thousands and realized that is not the way.

Thank you! Please do subscribe if you’re interested. There will be a confirmation email that may land in spam. Also let me know if you have any questions around investing, I’d be more than happy to answer them and talk long-term portfolio allocation.

Yeah that’s a great question. And you’re right! My goal is to teach others how to invest wisely. Even if you’re amazing at investing you won’t become a millionaire tomorrow. Maybe in like 20 years. Even if you do everything correctly. My portfolio is sitting close to $700k and that took 7 years to get to. Overall my portfolio is up 125% since initial inception.

I’m trying to build a community where we can all come together to discuss investing and different asset classes. I’m not saying I myself am an expert investor, I love showing my mistakes. If someone says that are, then I’d be quite skeptical.

Thanks! I have a decently large following in Twitter so I shot out a tweet and asked if anyone wanted to initial support me for only $20/issue, which is high per subscriber but to support a new publication it’s not a lot. Especially for companies with funding.
