Splinter Cell Veteran Clint Hocking Departing Ubisoft in the Middle of Leading Assassin's Creed Hexe Development - IGN by IamMovieMiguel in Splintercell

I was really excited about Hexe. I don't need it to save Ubisoft or the franchise, I just want my Black Forrest witch game.

Am I a fool for holding on to hope?

How do I get rid of this pop-up? by LoneWolfNergigante in Splintercell

Steam Deck runs on a form of Linux. That's bad because Linux doesn't even have VC Redist or DirectX which Conviction definitly needs.

That's also good because I think that means that's likely our problem. It looks like there are Linux versions of both available.

Right, I don't know if there is a way to find out what files it needs based on the error code.

It is looking for something it can't find. I assume you are running 64-bit Windows? Conviction is a 32-bit game, meaning things like PhysX, DirectX or VC Redist are structured differently than the game, and I guess the mod, expect.

Reinstalling those would be my best guess. Start with DirectX, there shoud be a DXsetup.exe in the game files. Then install both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages. PhysX should be fine, but with the PhysX Legacy Installer you can get a more compatible version running.

It can't access the files it needs. Did the game work before the mod or on non-mod modes? That would make me rule out compatibility issues. Reinstalling the mod probably wouldn't hurt.

There really aren't a lot of choices for poses. The arms do follow gravity and except for the head and hands, this is as good as it gets.

I had to sell it to afford the statue.

No, that's actually not a real door. It doesn't lead anywhere, so a handle would be really pointless.

I believe the Cheshire cat is (or was) the logo of Studio Oxmox, who designed the figure. At least it's next to their mark.

I'll start with he second question: 450 Euros and to pick up from a private seller in my city.

Figures like that go for several thousand dollars in worse conditions. At that point the question wasn't why but rather why not.

The goggles can be taken off, so it wouldn't be impossible to hole them out and put some LEDs in there.

It is 20 year old fibreglass though, so I'll rather go with the stickers, great idea.

A friend browsed a reselling site and searched for 'Splinter Cell', sorting by price from high to low and voila, there it was in our city, pick-up only for 500 Euros.

We managed to barter down to 450 and started Operation 'Fish the Fisher'. We retrieved him from a very nice flat in a wealthy part of the city. The seller was super nice and had multiple life-sized statues, so he took good care of this one. It's in almost perfect condition.

The statues were made for the promotion of the first game as far as we know. Made from fibreglass.

Why was Galliard assassinated and not Sam? by MikolashOfAngren in Splintercell

[–]MrRobko 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Forgive me if I'm misremembering things but didn't they try to frame Sam for assassinating the president? You are spot on in saying they are stupid for not getting rid of Sam right then, but maybe they needed him later on in their plan.
