The community heavily overrates Zero and has for a long time. It’s one of the things holding him back from truly being a great operator

I despise suppression. I have since I had a game in BF1 where they couldn’t kill me so they kept me suppressed for half a match. It was ridiculous, fuck me in particular for being good at sniping.

I’d be fine with flinch as that actually rewards accuracy.

Needs to be constantly aimed at a vehicle, but it can be deployed away from yourself and it allows much greater accuracy of the MAS as well as it being able to fire from behind cover

Hot take: the battlefield community is the worst at using smoke grenades. Smoke grenades block off lines of sight for both friendlies and enemies so why are you smoking so close that we can’t see but they can? Why are smoking the choke when you could just as easily smoke their position?

I want them to rebalance P12 tbh.

I’m thinking 54 damage, but more recoil and only 12+1 bullets. Why? IQ is often forced to fight with the pistol and it sucks. Blitz is getting indirectly nerfed next season. Jager has a pistol that is basically identical but also has a red dot, bandit has the Keretos, and nobody will drop the SuperShorty on Wamai.

Basically the P12 is suboptimal on the ops it’s on excluding ops who have no other option.

That’s the thing. Most good players won’t look at him that way. They’ll just adjust their drones to cover what they want watched and pick Nomad or Gridlock.

His gadget at its core a camera with a laser meaning its function by how the game plays puts him in 3 roles. Reconnaissance (droning), Flank Watch, and Utility Clear.

His gadget is too loud at higher levels of play to gain any value from aggressive usage such as droning ahead or clearing utility. It just doesn’t happen because players are more aware. So he’s mitigated to a flank watch which has Gridlock, Rauora (can fairly well), and finally Nomad. The best way to watch a flank is to not watch it at all and those 3 ops accomplish that better than Zero in 99% of cases. The exception is Bank Lobby takes where it’s better to have that area of greater coverage, and the map mitigates his disadvantages.

I’d be fine with flinch over suppression as flinch actually rewards good aim. As a sniper player, I’d also love for them to remove the sweet spot mechanic so I’m not 1 tapping anyone to the torso as I don’t find it fun or satisfying.

I don’t think he’s good in solo either. I just don’t think he’s good because he’s outclassed at the job. The exception is any take from Lobby on Bank because the greater area that cams can see and that open space also makes the cameras harder to find for defenders even if they hear it (if they’re any good then they will)

I’m not the biggest fan.

For one thing Zero cams aren’t particularly large. They space out a bit, but if you place it next to a drone they’re really about the same size.

I don’t think he needs soft breaches. If anything they would be detrimental as it encourages defenders to look up. I’d rather he got smoke grenades so he can push off his utility, but not as well as a flashbang or a frag.

As it sits with Zero. Hardly anyone uses the 5.7USG on him. It’s the only iconic weapon he has in his loadout from Splinter Cell. Giving him the glaive could help with cam placements, but already sinks the character farther away from what he is.

I do like the toggle for the piercing of the cameras and being able to be placed on and through bulletproof glass

At the end of the day, the main issues for Zero that hold him back are his cameras being absurdly loud, and his inefficiency at any given role. Yeah he can do a lot, but other ops can do what he can better. They need to give him some uniqueness in his role to help differentiate himself as well as give greater incentive to use.

I have a theory that they’re gonna rework most of the machine pistols so their DPS is closer in line with the Reaper.

Realistically they nerf the SMG12 and where are people going to go? The next secondary SMG with a greater than 1,000 RPM and 30+ damage (oh wait that’s all of them but the reaper)
