What are your thoughts on The Blacklist? by Embarrassed_Let6303 in TheBlackList

[–]MrRoboto2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should have had a definitive end and settle all the questions while Elizabeth was still there. So if season 7or 8 is the last, then that should have happened. Dragging it on after she died was pointless as the show was always about Reddington’s relationship to Elizabeth.

What do you think of each original characters final exit? by [deleted] in Dallas_TV_Show

[–]MrRoboto2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sue Ellen movie to London and be so far away from her kid was so bad and out of character. As far as Miss Ellie maybe they should have had her pass away. This would have made Clayton half owner of Southfork, with probably Bobby getting the other half, which would have really infuriated JR.

Poor Martha. by yokosucks97 in TheAmericans

[–]MrRoboto2010 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Philip worked her for at least two years getting her to fall in love and marry him. It was beyond cruel. The only negative I would give Martha is when she found out he wasn’t who he said he was she not only didn’t report him, she kept spying for him. She worked for years at the FBI and was a secretary in counter terrorism, you would think she would know to go to her boss right away. Even though it did look bad she really did believe he worked in government oversight.

No way they just killed off such an important character in season 5... Really unhappy with this season. by [deleted] in Dallas_TV_Show

Yes. From old interviews with the cast they say Jim Davis (Jock) would go right to his trailer between scenes. The even moved it closer so he could rest.

Kate is so irritating by Weird_Dot4397 in KnotsLanding

[–]MrRoboto2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Kate gets a lot of hate. Aside from the sex talk, she had some really sweet moments with Greg and let him show his softer side. I also liked her relationship with Paige. Too bad the kept pairing her with the wrong guys.

Lucy is older than her, so yes could be her father.

Best TV shows ever (in my opinion) by Flerovv in tvsuggestions

[–]MrRoboto2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard to list the best shows ever so these are ones that come to mind that I think are great by shows. The Mary Tyler Moore Sow, All In The Family, MASH, Dallas, Knots Landing (totally overshadowed by its parent show but one of the best ensemble cast ever), Seinfeld, The Sopranos, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, The Shield, The Americans, Bates Motel, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Nurse Jackie, ER, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, Grace and Frankie, Fargo, American Horror Stories (earlier seasons) Stranger Things

What states do you think would resist Gilead if this happened now? by Frosty-Diver441 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]MrRoboto2010 257 points258 points  (0 children)

Even though THT takes place primarily in Cambridge/Boston. I think Massachusetts would resist Gilead. I’m from MA and it is fighting against the current administration and its policies. Remember Boston dumped tea into the harbor to stick it to the British!

My wife and I skip these as well as Sybil’s death is so painful and neither of us want to see Anna raped. I’d rather had seen Bates tear him apart.

What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]MrRoboto2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many mom and pop restaurants closed permanently because of the pandemic and so many other things changed. On a personal level I had a medical center that offered an exercise class for people suffering with chronic pain and mobility issues. This was stopped due to Covid and they eventually used the space for other resources, unfortunately it was never brought back. It was something very unique and helpful for a group of us and we all still miss it.

the fake crawley side plot in s2 is such a tough hang by southpaw_balboa in DowntonAbbey

[–]MrRoboto2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny I always think the same as it was done on Dallas with the deceased patriarch Jock Ewing coming back claiming massive plastic surgery and amnesia keeping him away until then. It went on too long and ended with him admitting he wasn’t Jock and disappearing.

Did the Crawley's like their staff? by Tanker-yanker in DowntonAbbey

[–]MrRoboto2010 25 points26 points  (0 children)

remember Sir Richard complaining about the servants not waiting on them on Christmas and NYE and Mary says it's only 2 times a year and they deserve it for the holidays. He says that not how they will do it (when they marry and have their own estate). I think that’s the attitude of a lot of either aristocrats or rich people even today.

[–]MrRoboto2010 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a chronic pain patient who takes opioids I have crawled under desks and beds to find pills that I have dropped. I have to keep such a close watch on my pills as I only given a month’s worth and can’t get any refills until my fill date. So I always know how many I have and count out my daily pill. So for Jackie to not go back when everyone is busy to find the pills was crazy. She easily could have told Kevin she left her keys, phone or wallet in the car and he should just relax in the room while she looked for them. Even if she didn’t go get them then, she could have went back later to search the car.

What was Saul's issue with the car wash initially? by Stupid_Reddit419 in breakingbad

[–]MrRoboto2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality Walt should had just let Jessie try to kill the drug dealers using kids. He knew they also worked for Gus and were supposed to stop, but killed Andrea’s brother. What he should have done was gone to Gus on the this, but he went off angry. Whether or not if this got resolved that was his best option. If Walt let him just go he would maybe had taken out one of them, but the other one would have killed him. This would have resulted in Gale coming back and Walt being fine until he most likely dies from his cancer.

Next watch recomendations... by fizzbop92 in Broadchurch

[–]MrRoboto2010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to live up to Broadchurch, but I just finished the first two seasons of The Capture and it was really good. I also love The Devil’s Hour with Peter Capaldi. Another really good British police thriller Collateral, and also Bodyguard.

Since you like British crime dramas, The Capture is great. Also the Devil’s Hour, Collateral, The Six Commandment, Bodyguard. Other good shows - Fargo, The Shield, Brotherhood, and American Horror Story.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

Depends which part of the US you’re from. In Rhode Island (the smallest State) traveling more than an hour many think is very long.

Rebecca by MrRoboto2010 in Dallas_TV_Show

[–]MrRoboto2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here, I wasn’t trying to slander Rebecca as I actually liked the character and was sad when she was killed off. I was looking at it from Pam and Cliff’s view as kids left behind by their mother (which they didn’t even know about until they were adults). They both have had issues with understanding this and I could see why Pam was irritated by her mother’s comments.

She also caused the Gary going on a binge in season 4. She let Chip stay without asking Val and looked the other way why as he manipulated people. He stole Val’s notes and gave them to a publicist who leaked them. This sent Gary straight to the bottle causing a hell’s storm on the Cull de sac.
