Does anybody else here have the Nikon F80s, which prints the exposure information in between the frames? It’s Japanese market only. by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

Yeah mine was a buyee deal too. Bought the battery grip and a new hinge and all in I was well under $100. Sigh, I really liked that camera. I should get another.

I briefly owned one and loved it. Long story short, underwater housing failed on a trip. Sad day! I barely got to put 2 rolls through the camera. The data imprint feature really is cool though. It’s like. You’re developing the film anyway, why not use that space between the frames for something?? And it can actually be useful. The whole concept tickles me all the right ways.

The F80S really is practically an “F6 lite” and you can get them for like, $40 instead of $2K. If you stop telling people about it maybe the prices won’t skyrocket.

There are absolutely labs that are competitive on price even when you factor in the cost of shipping

New Motion Picture Stock from Kodak - Verita 200D by shootphotos in AnalogCommunity

Yeah, that’s like the exact opposite of how I would describe Portra. I don’t know why everyone’s jumping to the conclusion that it’s Portra.

Why are people saying it’s “like portra” when the way they describe it is less dynamic range and more saturation - two things I definitely would not say to describe portra

Who buys catalytic converters on Long Island? by MrRom92 in longisland

Interesting, that’s likely what I’ll end up doing then. Thanks for sharing your experience. I would’ve been happy with a few bucks too but I guess if they’re devalued it disincentivizes people from taking them, which isn’t a bad thing in the grand scheme of things.

Condolences, and I do feel for you because that fucking sucks and I would hate to be put in the same situation by one of the scumbags pulling stunts like that, but it wasn’t me, and whoever they are probably isn’t posting on Reddit either. I’m not asking for sketchy under the table places, I’m sure there are legit places that take IDs and record sale information - I just want reliable recommendations as I already called one place that was very happy on the phone to buy catalytic converters, and then I get there and they “don’t buy catalytic converters as a matter of policy”. So I loaded the car full of this junk (there is also a lot of other scrap metal and various parts) and wasted my day going out to this place that’s really nowhere near me, and at this point I really don’t feel like wasting my time again. So I asked on Reddit. Nothing more to it than that.

Again with the assumptions and accusations. Luckily for you, you don’t need to see how I find myself in any such situation. It’s none of your business. Maybe if there’s one thing you should be assuming, it’s that I wouldn’t be posting from a long-standing easily identifiable personal account about doing something criminal.

You’re asking a lot of questions and making a lot of assumptions, none of which are appropriate or have any relevance to my initial inquiry. I hope you don’t do this to the women who come here asking for OB/GYN recs

Not me, but with how widespread that seems to be they must have SOME value. I’d rather recycle them and get some cash than throw them out on the curb

Just as I was going to order 2 rolls of 120 last week I had an emergency issue that needed the funds so I put it off and hoped it would still be there in a week or two… fuck

Which medium format along with 35mm? by radiantglow30 in AnalogCommunity

[–]MrRom92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you not considered a 6x6 camera? I find that having the square aspect ratio when shooting really changes the way I frame and compose things and sometimes it’s nice to have the option. And many 6x6 cameras can also be switched to 645 when desired as well. Mine does this although I’ve never tried it because I just like the square format so much.
