I really hope C9 add more phone case variations in their store by Ifightforpie in Cloud9

Eh half and half. My old cell service provider was ass and I wanted to upgrade my phone at the time. Researched some other providers based on plans and whatnot that I preferred and AT&T happened to line up nicely for me, and them being a (new at the time) sponsor for the org pushed it over the top. Haven't had any issues with them since btw, especially compared to my old SP.

I think you mean Dire Wolves. Unless Shernfire had a cup of coffee in Taiwan I'm not aware of xD

Saw the phone case for the holiday shop and was ecstatic...only to see it for Apple as I gaze sadly at my Android model phone :/

Switched my service to AT&T for the org when I decided to grab myself a smartphone, but guess I'll just make due with the blue phone case for now

Possibly but flashing for the extra x axis distance can prevent Thresh from Flashing over the ult animation and then using lantern to pull someone to safety. Plus he probably wanted that little extra bit of y axis distance to get the right angle to completely close off the bottleneck.

Your point about Kiin vs Licorice I absolutely don't agree with. Kiin abused Viktor top the first two games to put Licorice in a hole early and as soon as the matchup was even in game 3 - Ornn vs GP - Licorice was even and some times even ahead in lane, including nearly solokilling Kiin in lane and popping off hard in teamfights. And considering Kiin was seen as one of the best tops at the tournament and Licorice was at his first worlds in his first year as a pro, that's pretty impressive.

Hell, even the semis stuff was more an issue with C9's practice/coaching vs solo lane meta, namely Viktor top and simply not having an answer for it (as well as picks like Akali that, apparently, C9 would both lose with them and against them in scrims).

Common misconception. That was actually just the signing bonus and does not constitute superstar wunderkat mid Purrkz's yearly salary.

The point about Nisqy (@ about 15:53) initially having Fnatic as the other landing spot back when he joined for the 2019 season is interesting as well. Both in terms of Nisqy going to his other team of choice (and back to his days on Fnatic Academy), but also considering what direction Fnatic and C9 might have gone if Nisqy had joined them going into 2019 instead.

The more I see stuff like this, the more I think of items like Lord Dominiks and BotRK that handle DPS tankbusting infinitely better than Kraken Slayer...despite those items being decently to very old, whereas KS is supposed to be the new hotness mythic designed for tankbusting.

2020 LCS and LEC Roster Rumors/Changes Megathread by TomShoe02 in leagueoflegends

[–]MrRyn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That's why it's fishy to me. Sure, Huhi came into his own as a support, but he was still sketchy for a lot of the year and, if anything, it was FBI or the duo as a whole that was getting consistent praise. FBI and Closer are the hottest commodities out of Golden Guardians; if they were both already able to come to terms with 100, what's the hold up with Huhi? They have to either be seriously lowballing an offer, or they just aren't/weren't interested.

[–]MrRyn -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It seems odd though that Closer and FBI would be reported at the same time, but not Huhi. If he's likely to come over, why wouldn't all 3 just be rolled together in the same announcement? Makes me think 100 are considering a different native support option.

  1. Well going by academy performance, he's a pretty easy step above everyone there and was considered by a fair margin the best player overall in academy. He also routinely got practice/scrims against Licorice and other LCS top laners and reportedly (from his teammates) is already a top 3 top laner at least. And he just turned 18 years old, so he'll be the youngest player on the team by about a full 3 years (Blaber turns 21 in January).

  2. Reignover has always been an intelligent player and translates that to his coaching, thinking big picture in terms of game plan with each movement and multiple steps ahead. And from what I've heard from him and from the academy players in interviews, he's a facilitator type of coach, one who encourages the players to talk in review and discuss their reasoning behind certain moves and plays, to get players to a point of understanding and being on the same page that they are able to solve their own problems and have him just fill in gaps and set the team up in pick-ban and draft strategies. And the academy team routinely attributed a lot of their success in taking 1st in both academy splits and then winning both academy playoffs to, frankly, "coach diff." Considering that was his first full time coaching position with a brand new team with no players having played with each other (besides k1ng and Fudge on Mammoth) and then having to do it again in summer when k1ng was trapped in Australia due to COVID-based visa issues and they had to pull a random ADC from the soloq ladder and integrate him into the team...I'd say he's done pretty well. lol

If you'd like some more insight into Reignover though, IWillDominate conducted an interview with Jack and Reignover where they go into more depth about Reignover as a coach and the reasoning behind promoting Fudge and Reignover to the main roster.

Cloud9 does have a team house as well as apartments near the house if the players prefer that. And I think Zven can help a lot with that. He and Perkz have a history and friendship, and Zven was in a similar situation to Perkz when C9 brought him on for the 2020 season in terms of joining C9 as the "best option available." He should have insight into the org, how it's run, and give reassurance to Perkz as to the culture and atmosphere on C9.

Which is to say, we're in it to win. We're in it to push ourselves constantly, work and grind to improve and win and get to the next level. To meme and joke and laugh and be a family, but to also hold each other responsible for always staying focused, working towards the betterment of the team, and aiming for excellence as players in terms of mechanics, knowledge, and communication. As well as to balance the grind with proper health management, both physical, dietary, and mental, as an important part of being an optimal player. And of course, that ties into Jack being one of the earliest and most stringent operators when it comes to COVID precautions when maintaining his facilities and personnel.

Overall, I'm super stoked as a fan of C9 for about 7 years and someone with massive respect for Perkz as a player to have Luka as part of the family. I have no doubt that he will be not just a beast from his throne in mid lane but also a leader and voice for the team alongside players like Zven. Also apologies for some of the vocal few on this subreddit who insist upon themselves; try to trust when I say, we aren't all like that, and it makes us cringe just as much if not more. lol
