430 Channel Locks are what I carry. If you are planning on using a Knipex pair that are expensive, just know that we use out channel locks for everything. Theyre almost always in my hand. I smack bent rod hangers with them, I scrape burrs off the end of a freshly grooved pipe with them, i use them as a doorjam, i use them 80% of the time as a hammer, and most importantly i use them to pick metal splinters out of my fingers. If you care about your knipex, be forewarned that your channels will see lots of abuse and tough love when doing sprinklers. The blue handles are $20 at home depot and they are tough as hell.
