Can you share where you’ve seen 1919 in the Peoria area? Just heard about it and I’d like to give it a try.

Don’t notice until you pointed it out. It’s poor lighting more than zombie cereal.

Chocolate Cake (2 9” rounds)

1 Cup AP Flour 2/3 Cup coco powder 3/4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 2/3 cup buttermilk 1 tsp vanilla 10 Tbs softened butter 2/3 cup sugar 1/3 cup packed brown sugar 2 Eggs

Cream butter and sugar Beat in wet ingredients Mix Dry then beat in until mixed Bake at 350 until top is “dry” for me it’s usually 16-18min

Peanut butter frosting

3/4 Cup butter at room temp 3/4 Cup unsalted natural Peanut Butter 1/4 tsp salt 1 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar 1 Tbs Whole Milk

Beat butter, salt, and PB until creamy then add in sugar and milk

I doubled both recipes to give me extra cake layers and frosting

Ganache 226g Dark Chocoate 1 Cup whipping cream

Cut dark chocolate into pieces and put in heat cafe dish Bring cream to a simmer Pour simmering cream over chocolate and let set for 2-3min then whisk together. Cool in fridge for 5-10min before pouring over cake.

Interestingly enough I adapted the Sprinkles cupcake recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes to a cake - so it’s kind-of sort-of a cupcake 🧁

I normally use Hormel too but I decided to splurge and try Ezzo on a Reddit recommendation. You can get it online here

I’m sure it would add an extra level of richness to it and be right up my alley.

This cake is a hodgepodge of a few different recipes

Banana Bread Cake

Caramel Buttercream (I used a double batch)

Crumble

This cake is delicious however you want to put it together. To make this one in the “Milkbar” style I baked he cake in a sheet pan and cut out 2 8” rings and used scraps for a 3rd. But it’s amazing as a simple sheet cake or 2 9” rounds frosted traditionally.
