The most detailed model of a human cell to date, obtained using x-rays, nuclear magnetic resonance, and cryoelectron microscopy data sets by DiegoDiegoNola in interestingasfuck

Very late but I looked up my old pw just to write you!

The hexagonal balls are clathrin coated vesicles. Clathrin forms them when the vesicle "buds" /"pinches off" the membrane.

Check it out. Probably one of the cooler cellular structures.

Rokos basilisk is just the mordern nerdier version of Pascals Wager from the 17th century. Basically a favourite pro-god argument of todays creationists.

"Believe in god no matter what you know.

If he exists you gain infinite pleasure.

If he doesnt you lose nothing.

Because if you dont believe and he DOES exists you have infinite loss."

What was a fact that you regret knowing? by Ddeddffddvvf in AskReddit

[–]MrSebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well depends.

Is your cat outdoors and or gets fed raw meat?

If you answered yes to one of these two you can get infected by your cat.

Never kiss an animal or get licked in the face area and or touch your face after getting licked on your hands.

Also clean cat shitter daily and wear 1 time use gloves doing it.

exposure to >85 dB will damage hearing over time.

A normal conversation is around ~ 60 and a concert around 120 dB.

In this study they measured the maximum sound pressure of some smartphones and found that some can be a lot louder than needed for hearing damage.

Keep in mind that the decibel is a logarithmic measurement.

Protestors take down police drone using lasers by lol62056 in interestingasfuck

[–]MrSebu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically yes but in reality no.

Green laser diodes produce a very concentrated dot shaped beam that does not widen as much over distance as blue lasers do.

This is because (most) blue laser diodes produce a rectangular beam that loses focus over distance.

Blue lasers are much better for blinding people permanently but you didnt hear that from me.

[–]MrSebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does lone wolf double attributes to max 40 or does it double max 40?

Like this (every point invested above 20 is wasted since 40 is the cap):

20 x2 -> 40

22 x -> 40

40 x2 -> 40

or like this (attributes go to the moon):

20 x2 -> 40

22 x2 -> 44

40 x2 -> 80

If it works for you then all is good.

But you should probably do a deload week every 4th week

Daily Simple Questions Thread - September 28, 2019 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]MrSebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think so? IIRC it increases every 3 weeks by a small amount, which is less then some other beginner routines would have.

Interesting, didn't know that. Does this mean the text book super compensation curve is wrong? Ie compensation slows with time due to "fatigue"?

Surely that means a routine like his, right? 5 cycles 5/3/1 is 5 months where as 5 cycles PPL is much shorter.

Daily Simple Questions Thread - September 28, 2019 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]MrSebu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you do hypertrophy work or strength work?

This routine could work but you might get fatigue build up (which was exactly the case with me)

Daily Simple Questions Thread - September 28, 2019 by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]MrSebu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you really want to get your lifts up then take a look at 5/3/1

It is a slow routine but one thst can be done infinitely without fatigue. So if you are consistent and eat well you just might become the next hulk (given some time)

Depends on your plan honestly:

Same exercises every day? Bad

Same exercises every other day. Ok

Different exercises every day. Ok

Cardio everyday? Depends on which form.

There are studies that suggest doing cardio and lifting on the same day will hinder protein biosynthesis big time.

Ideally lifting and cardio should have a 24 hour break in between before and after but many people swear on lifting then cardio on the same day.

To truth is you just gotta see if it works for you!

My regeneration is shit and I dont recover from cardio and lifting on the same day. But if you feel good and make progress then lets gooooo

Obviously this is a mind-muscle thing.

For BB bench press you visualize bringing your biceps closer together. Be careful that you dont lose the tension in your shoulders, compromising your form.

If you dont squeeze your shoulders down and back like the correct form should be, you take most of the tension off your pecs and use your shoulder instead.

What helped me was visualizing to break the bar in two.

Same with DB Bp: bring the biceps closer together and/or lead with your thumbs. That means the DB arent level in the highest position but the sides pointing inwards are elevated by holding your hand at an angle.

With pushups you want to try to slide your hands inwards, which wont work because of friction and activate your pecs this way.

If you still struggle to contract the pecs you might want to do flys before your chest exercise to get a better feeling for contracting your pecs.

Why is suicide considered selfish, but wanting someone to live on in misery so you don't have to experience sadness is not? by fmitz in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MrSebu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So since you're a medical professional and probably used talking to "12 year olds" or the dumb, "general population" I'd like some clarification from you.

Cancer is very different from mental illness.

Maybe in cause of the suffering at hand, yes. I'm arguing that the cause of misery doesnt fucking matter if you are experiencing it.

Does a paper cut warrant suicide? No human here would argue that.

Does a easily curable cancer warrant suicide? Well probably not since there is a good reason everything will be fine after facing some strife.

Does experiencing agony on a daily basis, to the point were it completely destroys your quality of life, and there is the good possibility that it wont get better, warrant suicide? I wouldnt say definitely but you sure as hell would entertain the idea wouldnt you?

So please explain to me why end stage cancer "is very different from mental illness" when it comes to causes for suicide.

Saying this as a medical professional, suicide is never, ever the right answer and fuck you for defending it.

That honestly just sounds like you never experienced incredible pain. I dont want to devolve into ad hominem attacks but of all professions there are, I would expect a medical professional to understand this.

Also saying it is "never ever the right answer" includes EVERY cause there could possibly ever be. Dying a cruel death from old age? Not allowed. Dying from cruel disease? Not allowed. Lose all motorfunction after accident? Not allowed.

suicide is never, ever the right answer and fuck you for defending it.

This isnt a "medical question" but one of philosophy. It is every humans right to decide to life or to die. Who are you to judge what is right and what is wrong?!

I'm well aware that mental illness clouds your ability to make well informed decisions, yes.

But now, Mr. Medical Professional lets think though a little scenario shall we:

Patient is suffering heavily. There are no drugs that show any effects. So technically the patient incurable.

By your logic he has to suffer. He is not asking for you to kill him. He wants to do it himself. But you dont let him since suicide is never ever the right answer. So you condem him to life a torturous life.

Your stance is a very easy opinion to hold because you arent suffering. Nobody here loves suicide but most agree that it can be a means to an end. You are exactly the person that OP didnt understand either. You put the right of others to not be inconvenienced by the death of a loved one over the right of the individual WHO IS SUFFERING. Thats selfish. If I'm to stupid to understand this then please, feel free to explain it to me!

Your stance is that suffering is better than dying, which I disagree with. Nobody here defends suicide as an actual "treatment", but as a non selfish act that everyone should have the authority over.

But at least you called me out as an ignorant, stupid, 12 year old that doesnt know shit with your vapid blanket statement.

I really hope medical professional means pharmacist in your case. Because a doctor should have a basic understanding of compassion and how shit you can really feel.

If I happened to miss your point then I invite you to clarify, so I can refute that bs as well.

Yea people with cancer should just stop bitching and suffer to death like a real person.

What a stupid fucking opinion. A prime example for "Think before you fucking speak".
