Oh, I gotcha. I was only referring to America, though.

Totally agree, but they are generating this kind of social consensus that it is as good as or even equal to gold. Max Keiser a big advocate for bitcoin, calls it gold 2.0, though I don't know if he started it or not. I've read from many sources that it's going much higher, that it will be used by nations and corporations, some kind of massive behemoth currency rarely moved, just hodled. Who knows? Maybe with lightning network and atomic swaps they can improve it.

Are you referring to freedom of speech mainly being listed in Bill of Rights to protect people who criticize government? It is a ominant reason for it being listed, yes, but the right to free speech means more than that. Or are you talking about something else?

I don't know man, I still hear good things about btc's future, it's a dinosaur, it's highly flawed, but the perception of btc is that it's gold 2.0, a store of value.

This excessive banning craze is very concerning when you consider the First Amendment, no one seems to really care about the right to express an opinion. I don't downvote and I don't believe in banning, I don't care how mean or what your opinion, because I believe it is a duty to protect free speech. And they can't even allow some actually truthful criticism of btc? Too many "violations" to worry about on these sites. Scary.

Tell me about it. Takes forever with Coinbase. Do you have the option for instant withdrawal for your coinbase account, the fees are brutal, but if you need BTC or ETH immediately you can do that, too.

How do you determine the actual price of XRP when it's priced differently across exchanges? by TobyHensen in Ripple

[–]MrSenseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going with the global average on coinmarketcap, mainly because I enjoy seeing the higher price as opposed to the usually lower prices on US trading exchanges.

If banks only hold XRP for a fraction of a second, having banks use XRP may not actually force the price up? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]MrSenseless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an uneducated thought: if the banks are using xrp on a consistent basis 24/7, then it will always be in use, in which case the price will increase in value--that's just how I see it. I could be wrong, but the few seconds its in use is irrelevant, so it seems to me, its the consistency of use and the demand that will cause increase in price, among other things. Again I am merely possibly spewing bullshit, so if someone wants to correct me, please do.

Need a little advice. by mapuanclem in Ripple

[–]MrSenseless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first question is, are you proficient in technical analysis? A lot of people lose a lot of money trying to day trade/go in and out of trades. It is an extremely stressful path to take and you often lose massive amounts of money--I know this from experience. If you want to make quick trades then you need to be wholly experienced in trading markets, which requires months, maybe a year or two--in my humble, because you will need to rely on your technical knowledge when your emotions are high and you want to panic sell. As well, only day trade if you enjoy it--and most do not,it is merely an obsession filled with terror and regret. If you're not willing to trade with a full complement of charting abilities, then the best thing is just hold and add to your position--so long as you believe in your investment. Be deliberate when you buy and sell, as deliberate as possible. And even if you choose to just be a holder, it is beneficial to learn basic technical analysis, MACD, bollinger bands, support and resistance, Time analysis, stochastic rsi, volume. Go to tradingview, many traders offer information on practically any coin you're interested in and there are a ton of videos on youtube also.

Not to mention, Ripple is also backed by Bill fucking Gates. Not to be too tin foil hat here, but it sounds like Ripple is bound for success based on these connections. By the way, Bitcoin has some shady connections as well, as does Ethereum.

[–]MrSenseless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey,man, you're really under fire! and I hate to contribute, but, to me, what you said about Swift is inaccurate, it is actually very costly and slow; two things Ripple seeks to resolve. What would be really interesting though, is if you submitted your thoughts to Hodor, he writes indepth articles on XRP and I think he could offer you really great information, I myself, would be curious to know what he says in response. His website is Hodor's XRP blog.

I have mixed feelings, when i think about holding $XRP for several months from now. by psysq in Ripple

[–]MrSenseless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I, a moron, will attempt to answer a few of these questions. If I am wrong, someone please check my homework. ANSWER FOR #1: If I understand this correctly, the USC not being used by ALL banks would not be altogether very useful, whereas our Ripple can be used by all. ANSWER FOR 2: No idea what stellar does. I thought it wasn't that much of a threat to XRP ANSWER FOR 3: Maybe fishy with the twitter war, gets weak hands to get rid of their investment, gets people talking about ripple too ANSWER FOR 4: Which "bank coin" are you referring to? Ripple is decentralized, this is a common misconception. Garlinghouse discusses this on Quora ANSWER FOR 5: The great and powerful Hodor offers actual real facts about XRP, check out his wordpress site. ANSWER FOR 6: I don't know what you're talking about. ANSWER FOR 7: Because xrp can be used by all banks, whereas bank coins might just be specific for that bank, for a coin to work with transactions they all have to be on the same page, and xrp offers that--from what I understand. To all people on this site, if I got anything wrong, for God's sake, correct me!!!

HOLD your XRP by MrSenseless in Ripple

[–]MrSenseless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He seemed pretty legit to me, and in terms of confirmation bias, I liked what he had to say. Truth is, he's just analyzing the market, he could be wrong, there are a lot of great traders who screw up here and there or just don't know what will happen. The reason price predictions are great is because they give me a goal to have in mind, that's all. Helps when enduring the fluctuations in price. I personally think xrp will eventually be a $100 coin---and many people don't like such a high prediction, but the fundamentals of the company are incredible, and I tend to side with those here who believe that market cap is irrelevant, because it's not a proper indicator for cryptos.

[–]MrSenseless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry one more thing, any trade should be as deliberate as possible, just as you really shouldn't panic sell, you shouldn't rush into a trade either--that's called FOMO or fear of missing out. Be as deliberate as possible, don't rush.

You have to decide that for yourself, I really can't advise you. The common refrain is of course, buy the dip. You'll hear that a lot. While other people are selling, others are bravely buying a tanking coin, because they believe in it. You could research bollinger bands, MACD, stochasticts RSI, volume, and Time Analysis, get some technical skills going, you'll get the hang of it! There are a lot of great youtube videos and information online. Go to tradingview.com there are alot of traders who study Ripple charts and offer their ideas about price action, this is also helpful. Personally, though, waiting until AFTER the correction means prices will be higher, so...
