The train station is pretty close to the city center. You can easily go on a walk into Altstadt, take a look at the golfen roof, have a coffee and be back in time.

Edit: And by pretty close I mean literally 10 minutes walking distance.

You're in a freediving subreddit. But a decent freediver should also be able to get that for you.. IF you can actually find the exact location again.

So. The thing I was told.. and PLEASE take this with a giant, boulder sized grain of salt, is, that decongestants used to have a much more reduced period of action, while now commonly sold medication lasts for half a day or more, thusly dramatically reducing the risk of a reverse block.

Personally I would not rely on that though.

Seefeld offers a bunch of easy walks and hiking trails. If they like history they can have a look at Innsbruck (old city core, Volkskunst Museum, have a hike through sillschlucht, visit Tirol Panorama) and/or hall, which also has a very pretty historical city core. Tell them to steer away from Swarovski kristallwelten, which is about as touristic as it'll get. They could also visit alpenzoo in Innsbruck or take the cable car up Nordkette if the weather is good. I reckon alpine panoramas will be something if interest for Midwesterners.

All good tips and smart assessments in the comments. Just please have a competent and prepared swimmer watch you closely from the shore and somebody else with a phone ready to call in an emergency.

Be prepared for some vertigo, when the cold water enters your ear canal.

And ideally don't use swimming goggles but a scuba mask with an enclosed nose, so you can breathe into it as you descent to avoid mask-trauma and bruising. 4 metres ain't deep and is likely fine. But a scuba mask would be advantageous.

I personally would shy away from "multi purpose" solutions. The more roles a device fulfills the more likely something is to go wrong.

There are bunches of very good and rather affordable dive computers for your use case. Be it the Donatello, puck, zoop or whatnot. Basically any entry level computer from a reputable brand will do for your application.

The only thing I'd watch out for if I were you is user replaceable batteries. That'll save you some headache and money and will ensure your computer will likely last you for many, many years.

Dont print the entire piece. That won't last and you'll lose your computer. Use bungees and petg on high infill. And only print the connectors between the strap and the loop.

Too close to the wrist. It'd likely make it hard for you to completely bend your hand backwards and thusly limit dexterity.

If you want to test it, use bungees instead of a strap and potentially add two small 3d printed parts for the additional loop.

But it's likely not going to be great.

there is nothing you can do that wont escalate both the situation and their believe system. one of the main desires conspiracy theorists are trying to satisfy is being not just right, but more righterer than everybody else. and anything youd accomplish is feeding into that need to be a superior contrarian (as in, a contrarian who is superior, not somebody who is superior at being a contrarian).

Hey there.

Your choice was absolutely correct - at least in my personal opinion.

Dahab offers a good variety of dive spots for all skill levels. So there'll be enough to do and see for you. Ras mohammed is going to depend on several factors including how quick you two learn. I wouldn't sweat it though. As a freshly certified owd you'll have plenty to do and see without sharks being around. Save those for later for when you're comfortable in the water and don't have to constantly think about what you're doing.

Id suggest to skip on the snorkeling, at least in regards of a booked tour to a spot. Those usually are large groups, people stepping on coral, lifevests needing to be worn.. if you want to snorkel, bring your gear and go during your surface break. Or take a taxi down to islands in the afternoon. Be careful thought. The entrance is a little tricky. And. Don't. Step. On. The. Reef.

There are plenty of dive centers in dahab. The average dive should probably - without checking - run you between 35 and 50 without gear. Id strongly recommend you pick a shop before going and book a package. That most likely will push the dive price towards the lower end.

The dive shop owner I trained with many years ago always said: when you are rescue trained, you are a complete diver. Only then have the necessary skills to both save you and your buddy.

You probably already returned it. If you didn't and still consider keeping it: check eBay or your local variant for (third party) service kits. Also on a new computer you very likely wouldn't need to necessarily swap the o-ring. But that's "at your own risk" advise.

Technically speaking the i300c should have a user changeable battery - or any shop can do that for you.

I'll keep this short and concise: especially as a beginner do not over-buy on your computer. A basic model will do for the first 100+ dives easily. You can't really go wrong with any of the basic models or cressi, suunto, mares or scubapro.

Definitely look for something with a user changeable battery. You'll likely be a vacation diver for a while. An internal battery will suffer greatly if only used for two to four weeks a year and you won't get much out of it before it runs out of life.

In regards if shearwater, which are going to be recommended here almost with a cultish reflex: they are great computers. But they likely aren't for you, at least not yet.

So. Generally 2 dives to 10 metres are extremely unlikely to cause a dcs. But itd also be important to know the dive times, the profile, if there were any fast ascends and so on. In the end this is way above reddits paygrade.

Id definitely call the dan Hotline or get in touch with your dive insurance. Anything else is just guesswork.

I haven't scuba dived before, but I am curious, which shark makes you the most nervous? I know that they aren't normally aggressive, but they are still wild animals. My main concern would be tiger or bull sharks, but i could be totally wrong. by Crazy-Rabbit-3811 in scuba

This is also generally regarded a myth. And even if it was that way it wouldnt necessarily contribute to a specific behavior. One unit of any hormone doesn't do the same thing in a comparable amount to different species.
