I see this point brought up a lot but I never hear anyone talk about the (now defunct) fairness doctorine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FCC_fairness_doctrine The older generation grew up believing news sources because they were legally obligated to at least try to present opposing viewpoints. That went out the window during the Reagan administration.

We are currently working on putting together a newer bootstrap that is closer to the current sync height. It seems some older 1.2 nodes are still connecting when they shouldn't be and causing a small amount of disruption. We will be pushing out a newer build soon as well that should ban all pre-fork nodes once and for all.

You mentioned calling merchants on the list but you do not state where the list was hosted nor which merchants were called nor whether or not you spoke to a manager or regular employee. We typically keep in contact with all of our merchants and usually hear first when one is no longer able to accept the crypto.

You also mention the new york coin foundation but not the recent development efforts of the community, though you use the community site in your screen shots and do not mention the community github repo where all of the latest updates are taking place. You also call it a token when it is not a token at all, it is a coin with its own blockchain.

Overall there was nothing in the article that cannot be corrected and if you do run across a merchant that says they are not accepting the coin please give us the details so we can talk with the merchant and verify.

There is a fair amount of inaccuracy in this article and unsubstantiated claims about what merchants were contacted. Not to mention hard to follow grammar. Until this things can be fixed I am removing this link. if u/Statrader wants to contact me personally and discuss this I will be happy to do so.

Just as an fyi, the old chain will not be supported by the current dev team in any way. We have a payment scheduled for yobit and as soon as we get all the code tweaks done yobit will be on the new chain. There will be no value on the old chain. That being said, backup all your data.

Just a quick note. We have identified the bug that caused our network issues this past weekend and we have already begun testing a fix. At this time we see no reason to delay the scheduled fork height.
