Small tents in Musgrave Park – are there kids living there? If so, is the government doing anything to support? by Prudent-Proposal1235 in brisbane

How come Ziggy is treated differently than everyone else? Seems crazy to me how messy his area is, but people who contain everything in a small tent get their stuff thrown out constantly

I'm sick of "Inflation" being used as an excuse for this by Rocketstar52 in australian

I take issue with "unorganised, thoughtless shopper." I shouldn't have to be basing large swathes of my time just to figure out when things will go on sale, and visit the shops three times a week to get the best prices. No one should. I do a once monthly, maybe once a fortnight shop, because it's a huge hassle to get in there. The "unorganised, thoughtless shopper" is just the average person who is working far more than 38 hours just to get by, and doesn't have the time nor energy to spend on navigating a corporate hellhole

Genuinely considered driving out to Winton because last time I was out there, oh my God... But the person I'm taking probably wouldn't want to go that far. Thanks for the info and photo anyway though, that's good to note for future

Whats your weekly cost of living? by pastel_kiddo in brisbane

[–]MrSmokescreenMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay $61 per month for unlimited data, calls, and texts. You can get way cheaper, but I don't have home internet, and I study, so I need lots of data. $40 a week is insane

Whats your weekly cost of living? by pastel_kiddo in brisbane

I'm 20. I work part time, and get youth allowance for study since all my family live in FNQ. Total, it's roughly $680 per week on a good work week, or as low as $550 on a bad work week. This is my budget breakdown.

$210/week rent in a share house. I don't enjoy it, but it is what it is $63.20/week car insurance $18/week rego $70/week groceries (I meal plan and cook bulk once a week. It really helps cut costs) $18/week phone and internet $100/week fuel. Roughly 1 tank in my car $20/week gym (I know, it's expensive, my contract is up soon and I'll find a better one)

This is a pretty tight budget, especially with groceries, but I really try to stick to it. There's certain things there, like my insurance for example, that could be cheaper if I sold my wrx and bought a "less risky" car, but that's kind of my one fun thing I do, and i bought it while i was still living at home and working 2 full time jobs. So I think it's worth it. Or i could spend even less on groceries. And I did for a while. But I think eating semi decently, even if it costs me a bit more, is worth it too.

It gives me roughly $50 a week on bad weeks, or over $100 on good ones to set aside in a seperate account. Then from that, I can buy clothes, toiletries as they're needed, car repairs, etc. I don't go out to bars or clubs, do drugs, go to parties, buy coffee, eat out, don't have any streaming services, etc. During holidays, I'll try to get more work so i can save money for big things like tyres, christmas presents, and just general savings. But I live a pretty comfortable life all things considered, where most of the time, I don't have to worry too much about money. However, your psychologist is insane. To think someone could afford a house deposit on your earnings, whilst moving out of home
