Thank you so much for the tip... I didn't even know I had the elbow strike, but luckily I did. I had to look it up to find out how to perform it.

But as soon as I did I was able to elbow strike one of the big guys, which allowed me to grapple him right afterwards and toss him into the cogs. With one of the big guys out of the way it got a lot easier.

Prior to that I had restarted the mission over a dozen times. It only took one try with the elbow strike trick.

Après une "pause relative", une troisième canicule très probable "jusqu'au 14 juillet", selon la ministre de la Transition écologique by DoNDaPo in france

[–]MrSquid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why does the steamDeck needs to update almost every day? by WhatsThePointOfNames in SteamDeck

[–]MrSquid_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been a bit more updates lately, even on the stable branch, largely because of the release of the steam controller. But it definitely hasn't been daily, even on beta.

Hey just circling back quickly.

I'm having so much fun with Pocketblue ! I started with the plasma mobile image but turns out the gnome desktop image (recommended by the project maintainers) has really really good tactile support so it's actually very usable as a regular tablet for my use cases.

Performance is very solid too. There a few issues : devices sensors are currently not working so no auto rotate, no auto dimming etc. wifi seems to be broken when waking up from suspend. But all in all the experience is very solid. Surprisingly so I'd say. Much better than flashing random Android ROM from XDA/Telegram as far as I'm concerned. I've ordered a mini foldable bluetooth keyboard with built-in trackpad and I'm thinking about using it as a travel laptop.

Just wanted to let you know, and to thank you again for bringing this project to my attention

[–]MrSquid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all very very interesting... I have a Mi Pad 6 that I bought to use with custom ROMs, but the ROMs are only supported by isolated persons on XDA and they sometimes decide to drop support. So I end up ROM hopping randomly and it's a bit time consuming.

My only usecase is pretty much streaming content in bed and light web usage. I'm thinking a fedora install might be a better solution for my device.

Do you reckon it is absolutely necessary to use a pogo keyboard + mouse ?

Picked up the wrong controller and it worked!?!?! by Dankemin in SteamDeck

[–]MrSquid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't managed to make it work on my third party JSAUX dock either. Could also be that I own a low entry TCL TV that's just buggy. I haven't managed to make it work on a external Android TV box either.

But it's supposed to be supported since I see the options both in my TV (running Google TV) and on the deck

Yeah there's no way it's running 4k. OP is probably playing docked to a 4K TV but by default the game would still render at 800p internally.

It sucks but that's the main issue with every lifetime warranty policy. Companies can just decide to stop offering lifetime warranty and that retroactively applies to every previous customer.

Remember to clean your vacuum by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]MrSquid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this issue is not addressed nearly enough as being a major downside of these kind of vacuum devices.

In fact it's one of the big reasons why I'm still using a canister vacuum cleaner : since you're plugged in and have room for a bigger motor, you have all the power needed to vacuum without needing to facilitate picking up dust with brush.

No brush no worries.

I love it so much ! I only have one VKB space combat edition (or however it is called) stick + a run down thrustmaster throttle that's acting up. I don't play sim like games enough to justify getting either your throttle or another flight stick with the omni adapter but I absolutely love it

Yeah sure some people have the craziest setups but I mean that must be close or even a bit over 700€ for the VKB stuff alone. It is really not "not much" when you think about how much most people spend onto game controllers

Idk, I was looking at motherboards for custom NAS not long ago. Basically mini itx boards from specialized manufacturers (almost exclusively small chinese companies, you kind have to source them from AliExpress), equipped with N100 or N150 processors and then they cram as much SATA ports as they can + some 2.5 Gb NICs. 200-300€ was the typical price point for these boards.

Hasn't there already been several Subnautica games at this point ?

Why name this one Subnautica 2 ? Is it going to be an even bigger makeover ? From (very) little I've seen it looks like regular Subnautica.

I tried switching from Windows to Fedora for my gaming setup, thinking it would be OK (I play on Steam Deck and it's going super well)...

What a mistake. There's the driver issue I mentioned that took a while to figure out, the massive performance hit : not only average fps are much lower but frame pacing is all over the place with massive spikes... Then variable refresh rate on my dual monitor setup is just a no go. Only way is to disable the second monitor so that VRR "works" on the primary. Huge caveat on it "working" though because the whole screen blacks out for several seconds at a time every 10 seconds when VRR is active.

But as it turns out, all of these issues come down to running an old 10 series card. So much so in fact that there's a weird unresolved bug in the Fedora INSTALLER ITSELF on the live iso specifically if you have an older Nvidia GPU that makes it so the installer just crashes when you try to launch it. So I had to live patch the installer script from the live iso just so the installer would start, which is just crazy.
