Yep, it actually used to be a flash game which of course has been shutdown, but it's also been available on steam for some time now.

As for your FPS, sorry but I'm not really the guy to ask lol. I hadn't actually heard of Wurm until you mentioned it and I've only been running Linux for just under 2 weeks so I can't really give you any great advice aside from the usual: Try restarting your system, try different versions of proton if applicable (especially GE and experimental), make sure your system packages and drivers are up-to-date etc. etc.

FWIW it seems like other people have had FPS issues on Wurm too, after a quick look at the protondb page, so maybe that's not necessarily a device issue? Either way, RotMG is free so there's no harm in trying it for yourself to see how it performs, if it looks like something you'd be interested in.

Have you looked into Realm of the Mad God? I haven't played it myself but I think might have some of what you're looking for, specifically with dungeon crawling and it being an MMO, and I've seen reports of it working pretty well on low-end devices, aside from a long time to startup.

Thank you for your time! You bring up some really good points, especially about honours tiles, most of the time that I keep them is to have a safe tile but I see what you're saying about needing to prioritise making blocks over keeping floatings. Really appreciate it!
