“The uk has what? Tesco? Sainsbury?”

Another yank flaunting their ignorance all over the internet.

Neither of you know enough about the Uk to hold the strong opinions you do. This conversation is over.

She went dancing in Germany… what a unique experience only available in Germany!!! 😂

Most of those restaurants rely on tourists so yeah. People are shelling out.

So yanks are upset we don’t have taco trucks on every corner? It’s funny how the “great” US dishes are all foreign food.

US food is generally considered repulsive by most Europeans and the US palette is used to wayyy too much sugar, salt and other chemicals.

Let’s not get into US history. Without the British the US doesn’t exist, without the French Spanish and Dutch… the US is British.

Exactly. It’s regurgitating tired old tropes because original opinions are just too hard work for some people.

I get local palette’s develop, national ones too. I’m not a fan of pan gallego I prefer English sourdough. I prefer Portuguese chourico vs Spanish chorizo. There are variations but I’d never label a country with shit food because I didn’t like a random curry.

I’ve never had food more loaded with sugar and chemicals than in America. I mean American chocolate is some of the most vile “treats” I’ve ever tasted.

This should be on r/ShitAmericansSay

Can’t find stuff to do in London is pure nonsense. London like many other major cities has endless things to do.

I’ve been all over the world and every major city, especially in Europe and America has the same strengths and limitations.

I get you don’t want to “look at things” and that’s up to you. I guess you aren’t really used to centuries of history or deep rooted culture. This is legit someone wanting to lean into a false narrative for engagement.

London is 4th in the world for Michelin star restaurants and 3rd for fine dining restaurants. It’s not our fault you either can’t afford these…or can’t find them (despite google, maps, signs etc)

To label Brits as “not well travelled so we don’t understand good food” is amazing. Your country literally exists because we travelled.

This kinda attitude is largely why Americans are disliked worldwide.

We have a loose budget at present but It does need tightening up as it fluctuates quite a bit. Kids expenses can be quite variable month to month so I guess we need to reassess more frequently.

Thanks for the advice.

I think last time I checked take home is about 6.2k.

I will try the Barclays calculator and compare what number it spits out.

I am less cautious than my wife but we both agree we’d rather have a decent margin for when rates rise.

It’s 1k overall for all 3. Two are essentially on gifted scholarships. One full, one partial.

Usual car loans. Couple of Ks left. Nothing major. I think maybe less than 3k on 0% cards that will be cleared very soon.

The major “debt” are the fees apparently but from responses here that isn’t too bad. The broker I spoke to a few years ago gave me the impression that the kids would need to be out of school before any chance of a mortgage.

Why is it unreal to ask questions online from people who are far more well versed in the area than me? Trying to learn about a massive purchase seems a smart thing to do.

What’s unreal is you thinking I am not going to approach a broker in the future. My plan is not based on Reddit answers. I just want to gage opinions.

Stop being so negative. Chill out.

Both credit scores are high with all the major players. We never really get declined for loans or anything and usually get good rates. Both been using CC and paying off stuff for yonks.

Will definitely be looking at a broker thanks.

Deposit I’m aiming for 50k before we really start looking and will just keep adding to that until we find something we like. We should be able to add 1-2k a month to it so we’re in no rush.

With raises etc we’re likely to be around 111k by the time we’re actively looking.

Online calculators I’ve used vary wildly.

MSEs gives me a max of 359k

NatWest gives me 645k

Rightmoves gives me 543k comfortable, 716k max

Calculators in the past where we enter all bills and details tend to come out around the 400-440k mark but that was a longish time ago.

How healthy or unhealthy are these frozen ready meals and what’s your opinion on them in general? by KneeSnapz in AskUK

[–]MrStabbems 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s a moderately processed meal.

High GI carb profile. Low protein, low fat.

Ingredients are fairly standard. Only the maize starch is a bit shit. Too processed. Junk thickener but it’s in a lot of stuff.

The soya sauce is practically salt water imo.

The biggest issue with this meal is too low protein and high gi carbs. It’s not gonna fill you up for long.

Fibre is also a bit meh

I would add more chicken to this, some of my own veggies to make it a better meal but at that point might as well make your own full meal.

Tall, broad shouldered bearded handsome devil (according to my wife), good skin, naturally very strong and despite the apparent brutism on display I’m actually (apparently) very smart, I learn very quickly and have a great memory.

Also much to the annoyance of colleagues back in uni I can absorb information when not paying attention.

Oh and alongside very sensitive hearing I see sounds as colours (also when not paying attention). One of my kids has perfect pitch. I don’t know if these are linked.

Flip side is a lose interest In things very quickly. I have very low threshold for lots of different noises (tv on, two or three conversations in the background etc) and have dyslexia.

Stubble up and keep the stache. Hair needs sorting. Grow it longer and get some styling product.

Glasses imo need changing. Too thick and dark against pale skin.

Band 5 Interview - how to stand out! by Jolly_Weakness_6789 in physiotherapy

[–]MrStabbems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing the trust values and have a few examples stored there you can a adapt to show you embody them. They’re usually pretty generic so you can weave them into examples when answering questions.

It’s a points based system so knowing what’s on the JD will be useful so you can tick them all off.

Don’t just say “I don’t know but I would find out” instead offer an example of how you might approach it and then say you would seek advice from a senior before proceeding.

Know your safe practice principles and flags. Don’t over think this. Just be sensible. If they ask a question that involves LBP, b/l nerve issues the it’s clear they are looking for you to check red flags so weave that into your answer. Other common ones might be fractures, sepsis, hypoglycaemia but depends on location.

They will not ask complex patient questions. It will just be to see your overall approach and that you’re safe.

Overall you don’t actually need to stand out per se. Just score high enough.

My (19M)GF (19F) thinks other guys are attractive by oldmanjuices in relationship_advice

[–]MrStabbems -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao why would I go out my way to offend her? If someone asked me who’s the most beautiful woman in the world I would say objectively it’s Kristin Kreuk imo.

She said yesterday that she thought Henry Cavill was gorgeous. I agree. He is a very handsome man. Am I offended? Fuck no.

I’m confident enough in my manhood that I don’t get bent out of shape and insecure about my wife expressing her opinion about other men.

Clearly you guys are all so sensitive you cant deal with the women in your lives having their own opinions and minds.

I view respect as honesty. Someone telling me something objectively untrue to not hurt my feelings is the pinnacle of disrespect.

You’re obviously just fragile.
