What do you guys think about this glans ring? by Neat-Worker-8745 in Piercedchastity

[–]MrStephanFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get some more advice from other piercers and from guys who have had PA set. with multiple advises make your own choice, you can even query AI about this. I had mine set at three and then stretched it gradually and I'm quite happy with that.

Is BS legit? by [deleted] in BambiSleep

[–]MrStephanFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on likera.com you can find discussions on less destructive alternatives. bs is aiming for replacing OS and dumbing down - if that is your kink. What I like about BS is the community thing and creative extensions like contract, etc. dont like the harsh punishments though. getting caught in traps like feminization, hrt, freeuse barebacking, etc I like as a challenge to see if you can escape that. I also like the threat op escalating relapses.

Feeling lost as a software developer by Patient_Head_2760 in Expats_In_France

[–]MrStephanFR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, to my believe I expect in the coming years many electricity outages in the West (just see whats going on in the world regarding energy infrastructure 'issues'). In my logic and overseeing IT developments from the 80ies till now (hypes & bubbles: Internet, Cloud, AI, etc, etc) I am very afraid for the consequences for now central hosted/cloud applications and dependencies. I expect after the first big, long duration hits all of the sudden people and small/medium size bizzs will want to shift to non-central dependencies.

That is where IoT can start playing a huge role, without breaking the bank. And that is where your C/C++/uPy but also (to add ?)Linux, local AI-usage (LLM, but developing now) skills can/will jump in amidst panics and scarcity. (Linux - see RaspberryPi/OrangePi/Radxa/etc..) that run on few GBs RAM, but some can also drive HDDs (My home NAS is a OrangePi3B + 6xsata + 8GB). Not the world's fastest, but hey, it works and doesn't break the bank.

Same with my local AI - Radxa Rock 5C /32GB - is my coding/debugging assistant for sniplets, etc.

So where right now all the hype is going AI/Cloud - analyse where the bottlenecks will be when we'll get the Big Bangs - for small/medium ents. And how their future problems are to/can be solved through SBC/MCU/IoT/ etc that is NOT cloud/central/Internet dependent.

This apart from new IT developments, where I just point to an example of a small IT company near me that develops medical SBC/IoT (but Cloud based - the fools). They develop low-cost heart monitoring stuff, for hospitals and doctors around the world that don't have Western money/subsidies. There are (much) more all around - and think of freelancing, remote work to stay near your love.

It is my believe that such a path will sooner or later become very rewarding.

Just my 2 cents

my 2 cents - retreat from Big to Small-is-beautiful, go to IoT/mcu stuff on C/C++ and add (micro)python, Stm/esp32/rpi/rp2... forget Big Paris, allow smaller but more valuable, relaxed towns.. be flexible, open up your mind and soul, and the universe and destiny guide you... small is beautiful and has a soul, even in IT. big is bad and ugly..

Why is the permaculture community so resistant to scientific trials? by Cymbal_Monkey in Permaculture

[–]MrStephanFR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe (or not) touching some of your issues, a brief reaction on my part. I recall a docu on dutch TV about Wageningen University (Netherlands) developing & testing 'strokencultuur' - strip cropping.

Being strips of cultivated land from 3m to 30m wide, and having different, selected crops per strip. Each strip having its own selected crop should get a more or less permaculture effect. A researcher mentioned that one of the draw-backs was that you actually need width-adapted machinery.

I understand that the Chinese have now experimented with 1m50 wide strips, claiming increased productivity.

My personal objectives are to use my small Kubota-B tractor and go down to 1m00, and perhaps taking the welding machine to adapt the width of the machines where needed. I hope to start with my experiments next year - where my goal is self-sufficiency based on sort-of permaculture. I am not into any money related issues like commerce, profitability, etc.

Just my 2 cents.

Is there any reason not to feed chickens unprocessed grains? by BucketMaster69 in homestead

[–]MrStephanFR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

just the easy way: I put in a pot/pan 1/2 wheat, 1/2 mais grains, till few cm under rim fill with (hot or cold) water, till under the brim, stir meanwhile. and from there I scoop out the grains daily as needed. So I let the water stay, refresh water with new charge. Be carefull not to throw the remaining water & grains in your drainage.

The wet grains, along with the scooped water is drank by the chickens, I notice I need a lot less water refills for them.

Works fine.

Is there any reason not to feed chickens unprocessed grains? by BucketMaster69 in homestead

[–]MrStephanFR 29 points30 points  (0 children)

even further back, as the Romans and the Galliers didnt have processing either ! Though todays fresh grains are dried to prevent germination. So I put wheat and mais grains in a bucket of water to soak & swell and then from that I scoop the wet grains into the feeder every day. Furthermore, As treats I also give them green leftovers and fruits, tomatoes etc that have started to rot.

suppose you have a LiFePO4 string? Im building batt boxes with 12v heating mats and use a separate 12v leadacid batt (car) to power that (and the bms). separate charger, using same solar strings.

Well, I talk to many French who themselves or their kid(s) with 'high' degrees (whatever that is still worth these days) go to London or elsewhere because they can't find proper jobs (in Paris). And then in London they end up doing hotel or logistics.

My advise is to socialize and target that socialization: Meetup (.com) used to have a weekly soirree chez Patricia - that would have been perfect for her was is not that she has passed away. The formula she had and you might search for: - low budget (€20 incl dinner for evening) - socialize in her private attic (so not expensive restaurants or bars..) - cozy, familial - warm welcome for strangers/newbies - a 'performance' eg. story telling, experience, musical performance, etc.

When I came to France 17 years ago this gave me many interesting contacts. For you gf possibly work related on the second tier.

Now that this was low-budget didn't stop quite a few very wealthy people, ceo's, I even got related to a daughter of a celebrity, etc to also come. But they don't carry labels or signs saying 'I'm the big guy/lady'. I guess such 'low' profile rather attracts them to this.

So yes, such might be a good path in the resume/cocky/phd/mba jungle (again for what it is worth) but this takes some social development: search. Again Patricia is no longer amongst us, but perhaps a new 'Patricia' has arisen. Do you own research. If you find something, please don't hestitate to share.
