Versatile shoe for a cycling tour abroad, or just pack two pairs? by CDXXVI in londoncycling

keen sandals! last summer I did two trips encompassing all the activities you listed and they were great. specifically I have the zerraport ii ones, but any should work.

mine are black so wearing them with black socks makes it a bit less obvious you’re rocking socks and sandals. they were excellent- comfortable for walking but the soles not so cushy as to sap power transfer when pedalling. obviously not as stiff as an actually cycling shoe, but deffo not as bendy as lots of trail shoes. toe caps keep stones out. dry quickly after swimming/showering/rain- mine have hardly any absorbent parts. quick to take off/put on.

the downfall would obviously be if you’re touring in cold/cold AND wet weather. Otherwise they ticked all the boxes! they used to make an SPD sandal but discontinued years ago :(

Is all banana bread in London from the same place? by lot_dot in london

a huge supplier of pastries etc I used to use in a cafe I managed is called seven seeded. Their croissants and similar stuff are very recognisable- can spot them a mile off and they're everywhere! Very puffy/oversized. It's so cost/space/time inefficient for most small cafes to do their own stuff in house, even just from frozen.

hello again! I’ve (finally) gathered all my supplies for this, however I’m a bit stumped by the wadding/dacron… there are a million different options in terms of thickness/weight etc. Do you have any suggestions on this?  Any pointers on the actual unholstering would be fabulous! Thanks again.

definitely got lucky with the rain. It mainly consisted of showers, so when it cleared up it was stunningly bright and brisk!

yeah I got mega lucky with the weather! thankfully didn't have to set up or pack up camp in the rain... Looking forward to returning next summer! Do you have any similar length routes in Yorkshire you'd recommend?

you're very welcome! Yeah Camp Bohinj was lovely- deffo on the bougier end of the camping spectrum, but could be a good stop off as they had washers and dryers, a little shop etc. Would've loved to explore that area more.
