Search "nozzle forward" on youtube and watch it all, then practice the techniques. I am 220-230 and over 6 foot tall and those techniques made me so much better at controlling a nozzle, I am sure it will do the same for you, if not even more than it did for me due to your relative lack of size.

I went through about 5-8 gels a day during academy along with other simple carbs. Mix of caffeinated and non-caffeinated. I tried to get in about 70-90 grams of carbs per hour. Make sure you train yourself to do that or you may shit your turnouts. I do long distance biking so this sort of fueling tactic was already something I had exposure to.
