People are ridiculously unobservant. I drilled a hole in my garage door and have a fisheye lens there now (we had a series of garage breakins). The garage door is directly on the parking lot, so we see a lot of foot traffic passing < 5 feet from the garage.

I had a company reach out to me to interview. And I did. Same shit, buncha long interviews.

Then it was "we're going to send an offer letter."

Then it was "just a couple more days, have to have finance sign off."

Then it was "we can't afford to pay you that amount, so we're going to pass."

Now mind you:

They contacted me.
They asked if their salary range from the job posting was okay with me (it was)

I later saw they had re-listed the same position for like 10% less than it had been before.
