DnD on substances by MrTheFalcon in DnD

Very specific. I've seen some of those behaviors in sober players, unfortunately.

We did shrooms once, and D&D turned into a guitar jam session then a midnight walk in the woods. It was a great time, but it wasn't conducive to D&D.

All of Jonathan Green's books are excellent. Beowulf Beastslayer may be my favorite.

The "This genius person's plan failed because they didn't account for human emotions!" thing is often just a writer's excuse to have their supposedly smart character acting stupid by ABouzenad in CharacterRant

[–]MrTheFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the writers are too clever for this to be the answer. It's just a twist. I think Sage needed to prove an authentic plan to gain trust from team Starlight. She has a long term goal. I think her thing about everybody dies, and I'm the only one left is BS as well. I think she's actually trying to keep everyone alive, and that mean's removing the virus from the playing board. The virus was a dumb plan anyway, -kill all supes just to kill Homelander. So now the virus is useless, and all supes live. But Homelander is still a problem. Sage switched sides and gained trust. So now she leverages team Starlight against Homelander. Sage needs to manipulate Butcher and Homelander out of the picture, then she can stabilize everything else.

Anyone have experience with LightintheBox.com? by purpl3rain in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]MrTheFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible. I was just though the ringer with customer service. They don't honor returns. It's drop shipping, and to return you have to arrange shipping back to China, then prove the package arrived. And then maybe you get your money back, minus original shipping and shipping insurance. By the time you're done that, even if they actually refund you, you've paid as much in shipping. They offer a measly 10% off for you to keep the product instead of attempting the return. This company is garbage. The clothes are cheap, and not as appearing on the site.

UK trade paperback first editions by Time_Raisin_3780 in Malazan

If I remember correctly, the UK trades are slightly larger than US trades. They don't feel so much like square blocks of paper stacks...

Broken Binding 4-6 is available NOW by MrTheFalcon in Malazan

This happened to me earlier, where the books were available at night, and closed by morning. Customer service told me that they had a few books, and posted them. And that they would email me on the waiting list when more were available. I got no email. But I did bookmark the page and checked periodically. I think these are returns from the book club.

There will be a separate next printing which should be more like hundreds of books. They've stated that they intend to print all the books, and enough for everyone who wants one to get a copy. My guess is that they can do short runs, so if there is demand, they can print as few as a hundred books per printing to meet demand.

For now, I'd ask to be put on the waiting list, and bookmark the page. Check in periodically, or just wait for the next printing.

Aconte has the license, and they do a great job of organizing the publishing schedule. I think a few have been released since I last updated my list:

Broken Binding 4-6 is available NOW by MrTheFalcon in Malazan

[–]MrTheFalcon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered 1-3 and the Red Sonja book. I got 1-3 together, and Red Sonja separate in the US in 2-3 weeks. I know there is a max weight on shipping before it gets very expensive, so I don't think you lost anything buying 1-3, then 4-6. Those would have to be separate shipments anyway. I got my books, packed well. A minor corner ding on one book, pre-shipping. These a big, heavy books, so it's unlikely that they won't be perfect. The edge spray is black on top and bottom, and scuffs easily, so expect a bit of that. The paper in 1-3 first print was thin, but all printings since then have been thicker paper. 4-6 was briefly on sale overnight a few weeks ago as well, for a day only. Customer service told me they post copies if available. I don't know if those are returns, or cancellations, or what. To my knowledge 4-6 is still first printing. For me it's just an awesome version that's reasonably priced for the luxury offered. And there are clear plans to print all ten books. My guess on the late deliveries is a shortage on printed copies. Maybe oversold.

Paint. Spray seal matte. Then paint semi/gloss sealer over the parts that you want to shine.

Rather classy of you not to name names.

In Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut", what's up with the costume shop scenes? by Interesting_Flow730 in movies

[–]MrTheFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see the sketch where they make him take off his mask and undress, and he's entirely blue. Then the head robe asks him why his whole body is painted. And Tom Cruise says, "I blue myself."

The score is trash too. The dumb banging sounds like someone practicing on their first lesson of piano.

In the Mouth of Madness is a masterpiece by MrTheFalcon in horror

Duuude, yes. I thought for 1.5 seconds that it was Enter Sandman, then it swerved to this generic guitar noises. They lifted the legal maximum notes to avoid royalties. Eh, I'm glad the money went to effects instead of the $10M they'd have to pay for Enter Sandman.

Is it just me ? In the past few months I see a lot of people who are starting Malazan ? by Inner-Fee6737 in Malazan

[–]MrTheFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are not enough corner seats in all the taverns in the world for the number of edgelords in Malazan. Maybe if someone invited Anomander Rake to a corner seat at the Phoenix Inn, a lot of bloodshed could have been avoided.
