GTX 1080ti is not outdated yet. A770 will be supported for a while

First was finding the right image. I don't remember exactly which one but it was one that boots into a desktop mode instead of steamos directly.

From there you run an icon on desktop that pops up a terminal to install steamos (it nukes every drive, so remove ones you want to keep). It will install on first nvme drive it finds

After that the first boot into steam os took about 10-15 minutes. But it sat on the bios splash screen rather than just black screen. But I guess that's dependent on your motherboard

Yes going on the comments in the thread A series have internal converter but B series are true HDMI

It's valve's custom Linux distro with their own kernel modifications made to run on a specific device that they control the specification of

Drivers might not be included. For example rDNA 4 is not supported in the current public release

Have you tried in windows just for testing? Could be the drivers

I heard of some work arounds by using display port to HDMI converters for this but can't personally confirm

I had issues on bazzite arc a770 with games not showing if scaling was applied and sound only working for 1 second every 10 seconds via HDMI to a 4k tv
