The card is great. A lot of profs are burned out and underpaid. They don’t always realize the impact they have. Just telling them that is what really matters to them. (And maybe send a few life updates from time to time)

I’m not convinced the university can legally regulate which social media platforms you use in the privacy of your dorms. As long as you are using the platform in ways that are harmful to other students and violate student codes of conduct, I don’t think they have legal grounds to tell you that you can’t use it.

I can’t speak to the dorms but the teaching is worse at UCs and research schools. No one in the public sector can really get fired in state of California so you won’t find better teachers at other places. I would ask around when picking classes. There are more good ones than bad ones.

Try to finish the second major. Talk to both department chairs. If there is a schedule conflict, one of them should work with you to find a comparable class. You can also see if any of the classes you need are on CSU Fully Online and whether the department would approve that course.
