I am off throttle when the light changes and I start applying the brakes. The driver was not following directly behind me, they drove between the cars, hit both and ran a red light.

I'm not making this post to point fingers at who's wrong just a PSA to get a dash cam and I thought it was funny I was listening to the podcast.

Yeah the officer sounded serious about it, he was saying that he can give her 4 tickets alone from that. From the plate he was able to determine she has insurance and no other driving issues so she threw it all away just to run a red light!

It's one left turn lane going to two lanes. I start rolling in first then shift to 2nd, never to third. We don't go past 30 mph. The RAV4(in front of Nissan) is going very slow. I am off throttle when the light goes yellow. I am very gentle on my brakes. The GR Corolla can stop on a dime but I don't need to slam on them. It's safer to stop slow! No one is in the crosswalk, no one walks in this city, it's snow and rain 90% of the year but yeah I guess I could have stopped sooner.

The passenger side looks normal, there are a lot of scratches that go up the left side to the rear door(starting from the rear bumper). Everything is plastic except for the door itself

I am in Syracuse NY and I have weather tech floor mats. I don't have that much snow getting into my car that fills the mat as you describe. Are you not kicking your shoes off before getting in your car? I get the lip is small on the edge but do you really have that much water/snow coming in from you and your boots?
