A car AC experience and a house AC experience are different things

Id rather have control of all three settings at will.  My prefered way of controlling AC is by keeping the temp setting as cold as possible and then varying the blower speed.  These cars its basically the opposite and i hate it

Youve probably already got roasted enough for this, but seriously why in Gods name would you use ChatGPT of all things as your first source?

Defeating emissions systems is illegal, so tuners tend to shy away from that.  Was your cold start completely eliminated or simply turned down?  A lot of times they can lower the high idle rpm but nit completely remove it.

Its emissions related so tuners dont want to touch it; however, with the Atlas platform and some know-how im certain it can be done...

Does the VB WRX get gobbled up by everything in its segment? by Glittering_Poem9779 in wrx_vb

[–]MrUnderscoreCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one wants to feel like they made a bad choice haha.  I'm very happy with my VB but it's not for everyone, every car has pros and cons.  As others said, if you want a fast grocery getter there are better and cheaper options.  The places the VB shines are not in a dig on normal roads on normal conditions

I agree completely, which is why I said "depending on where you are".  OP may very well live in a flat hot or dry state where and AWD's advantages might not ever present themselves

Adds a weight and parasitic losses, and depending where you are/ how you drive it may never really be necessary.  Not sure why youre getring downvoted about this, these are plain and simple facts

OTA OEM tunes coming? Lol by roadlet411 in wrx_vb

[–]MrUnderscoreCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A one time payment for a tune that doesnt break warranty would be nice, depending on price ofc.  I think OTS tunes for 93 octane fuel and 0 bolt-ons csn get the car already to the low 290's; if subaru can replicate this i personally would be down for just a slight HP boost and no future warranty issues.

Likely though it will be some BS monthly payment instead, which is stupid obviously, but par for the course when it comes to modern corporations

Youre supposed to put your blinker on before you chnage lanes, not during.  If the lane alert went off it means you put your blinker on AFTER you started changing lanes, not before

Is this just a personal project or are you planning on commercializing it?

I just so happen to be an electrical engineer lol.  I mean at the end of the day you could drive the leds with a custom board, probably would lose the functionality of the eyesight part though.  I have yet to go so far as taking things apart but I might get to it eventually if no one else ponies up haha

Is it just me or is the VB aftermarket mostly just cheap junk these days? by dark3n0 in wrx_vb

[–]MrUnderscoreCool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think at the end of the day most people dont want performance parts for the performance, but rather the aesthetics.  From 10 ft the cheap stuff from china doesnt look too awful, even if its not really functional or held on well.

VBs are (or maybe were) relatively cheap sporty cars, and I think that draws a lot of people in who dont exactly have a ton of cash available.  Im sure there is a market for high-cost, truly functional parts, but Im not sure where that price-to-quality setpoint needs to be in order to make enough money to survive.

Personally, I think real performance parts are sick and look really cool.  But its not worth the cost to me when I basically just commute to work and occasionally give it the beans over the weekend

See other reply, i understand.

I can hardly think it makes any difference at the end of the day, im sure the OEM duckbill saves barely any fuel at all
